this is not one of my typical blogs, just wanted to write something...so this not the usual anti-social crap i tend to churn out...
Strangely enough we all do typecast-ed in what we do, and how we do it...even our choices and our favorites...
Long time back i realized the kind of movies which i fully appreciated were the "strange-relationship" kinds...no other way to put...
my favorite movie is one which i saw at 16 and at 27, it is still my favorite, though i wont watch it for a rainy day...i tend to cry a lot during movies, strangely a phenomenon which doesn't tend to happen to be in normal, or even semi-normal times, well i even cried in sex and the city the movie, so i do have it bad...anyway my favorite movie does happen to be "Lawn Dogs"...if you have seen it, you might have caught the magic...
the movies i would watch on a rainy day usually are...
The Departed...another ones of my tearjerkers, i cry for the injustice in the movie, the guy gets conned into becoming a spy,gets messed, and gets killed, how fair is that??
a super-natural mini-series called "The Lost Room"...never been into super-natural stuff (even being a big fan of Stephen King, i dont watch this kinda movies), but this one is interesting to watch...
Terminator 2...anytime...
Outside Providence...i do tend to think of it as a contemplative version of the "The 70's Show"...
Breaking and Entering...again strange relationship movie...
Marvin's Room...amazing movie...
My Blueberry Nights...a love-story...
Resident Evil Extinction...the only reason i like it is, it reminds of my first Stephen King book "The Stand"...
The Inside Man...amazing story-line...
The Shipping News...a bit tedious but still a good movie...
American Beauty...
Juno...reminds me very much of myself...amazing sound-track...
The Pursuit of Happiness...
Any one of the Scary Movies...The Ring...
Stanley and Iris...beautiful love story...
some movies which i have and i am saving them for a rainy day...
Dirty pretty things...saw it in bits and parts on TV once...
The Hangover...
Next Stop Wonderland...saw it on TV some years back...its and independent movie, so is a little strange to understand...
Epic Movie...
Face/Off...

WW......"Lawn dogs" is the only good thing Misha Barton ever did in her wasted life......I like the movie too...:-)
I agree with you on American Beauty (love it), The Shipping News (very good), Juno, My Blueberry nights and Marvin's room.
The other movies...nahhhh....lol..
My rainy days movie tend to be on the contemplative, dramatic, nostalgia, broken dreams and dark, twisted relationships side....i like intellectual movies and i am a sucker for subtitles.......lol....
But then i can watch with gusto Thumbolina too....;-p
Just last day i re-watched for th time "Babette's feast"......ever watched it?

Lawn Dogs truly amazing...(i grew up reading Russian folk tales, so i guess i love it all the more because of that aspect)...
even though when i watch American Beauty i tend to snicker a lot, but its a beautiful movie...have you seen Breaking and Entering and Stanley and Iris, i think you would love them...
i tend to enjoy probably all genres of the cinematic art...that's why the Action, Comedy and horror movies are there in my favs list...
