Discussion Thread Inquirer 07/09/2009 08:50 PM I did that first. Now, for the 2nd time a deduction has happened. At 40% and with no other income, they say I am exempt. They do not know how to fix this. They work for VA.No brains allowed. I want my pay back. Response (Department of Veterans Affairs) 07/09/2009 08:28 PM Dear Mr. Jones: Mr. Soto's reference to having Oakland take a look at your prior year's co-pays means you need to contact the Oakland Outpatient Clinic. The Clinic can then review & correct any prior years copays so you can be reimbursed. Thank you for contacting us. If you have questions or need additional help with the information in our reply, please respond to this message or see our other contact information below. Sincerely yours, Ulrike Willimon Veterans Service Center Manager LAS#1025 Cc: DAV Inquirer 06/10/2009 10:20 AM I have had funds deducted in error from my benefits check in June, and from the economic stimulus check.I spoke to the patient right's advocate who said I should not be subject to medical copy.and the fund should returned to me.Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks From: Soto, Ruben Subject: RE: Medical Copay To: "Jeff Jones" Date: Monday, May 18, 2009, 2:08 PM I think part of the problem Jeff, may be that you had not had a copay test prior to this year since 2005. So, when I looked at this years, yes, you are EXEMPT from copays but, the bill may be from previous to this year. you need to have Oakland take a look at your past copays and fill in the blanks where they can, than VA can work on getting you your money back. Ordinary Vets do not know about these little tricks.I am not a VA employeee so how can I know what a copay test is.No one tells the vet.We just find out after our funds have been taken. When we joined the army there was no test.Just a chance to get killed protecting some rich people who never care about the vet.Your policies are being held up in order to slow the recovery. This is shameful.Jeff Jones
