Anyone displaying the type of ignorance that Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen showed in this discussion of uranium mining needs to hang their head in shame and step down from any position of power. We don't need people like Allen making important decisions that affect the health of the community -- human and environmental. Sylvia Allen states that Earth is 6,000 years old, which immediately discredits any further argument she wants to make in favor of uranium mining in Arizona. Clearly, we know that she has closed her mind to science so it baffles me as to why she is having a discussion concerning scientific matters. Sylvia Allen is the perfect example of someone I can see being elected even though she is unqualified. She has that vibe that says that she is a mom that is behind the times and still believes in superstitions and old wives' tales. This is not what we need people to be ruling based on. Give me logic and science any day.
