Having tried to get my head around the different packages offered by the television and broadband companies when I first moved in to my house I think it is time I looked around for a better deal. I am currently on Sky Digital for phone, broadband, and television but it is an extravagance and I am looking to cut my costs a bit so I am afraid that the TV might have to go. I went with Sky because they seemed the least complicated. Some of the deals I just couldn’t understand at all. I think now I will switch to something that is free to watch.
What is all comes down to is do I watch the channels not on freeview. I will miss the Good Food channel and UK Gold but I think I can live without the rest. Unfortunately I have found that I receive very poor digital signal, my DAB radio does not work at all and the upstairs TV that is connected to the freeview box doesn’t get much in the way of reception.
I have been looking for freeview boxes and there is a lot of choice out there. There are some digital boxes that are very advanced like the DreamBox and the Eurovox, and I wonder if they would give me a better signal. From reading around on the Internet that seem to be mainly used for illegal purposes, to watch subscription television without paying for it. I don’t really understand why they would be sold in the UK if they are illegal. I believe the that with the Eurovox, it will only connect to a cable connection, and as Virgin own the whole cable network and do not allow the use of any third party boxes they must be for illegal purposes.
FreeSat an is option that I have only just discovered. It seems pretty good, there are loads of channels and you get even more using a card from sky that costs a one of £20 payment. Free satellite is something I am going to have to get help on because I am not quite sure about the expenses involved.
