As I was looking at the cars cruising in the other side of the highway on my way to work, I couldn't help but think how daily life could just be a drone. We don't get to where we want to go if we refuse to go through inches, feet, meters, miles...and so on. It's much like cooking a meal - there are processes involved. Though we tend to take shortcuts sometimes, life is about the long way regardless of how badly we want our dreams to become real or how desperate we are to solve our inner turmoils. It's indeed about getting the message, the purpose of our existence.

I don't know how to drive yet. Maybe soon. For the meantime, I let others drive for me. I often pay for that. The free rides I've had were offered by close pals and, prolly, two or three kind strangers. Those were good ones. And each time I see myself closing the spaces I need to get to where I'm supposed to be, I also notice the fleeting time. Being on the road makes me think about the simultaneous stimuli that exist as people deal with their businesses - personal or otherwise. There's no way to stop others from intersecting with my trip and vice-versa. Like the intricate nature of a spider's web, one's life consists of interconnected roads. More than half of which we've made for ourselves, while the rest were laid down by others who may either be significant or just ephemeral.

A few kilometers away from the unloading site, I got my message - the purpose of my journey. It's not really about the grandness of our achievements or the distance of the trip. It's about the mere survival of every day until mother nature and other unseen forces invite our spirit (if you believe in one) to join the unseen Neverland. What gives the ride its spice is the kind of relationship we have with other people and, most especially, ourselves.

That's just how life is lived. Simply a journey - with other cars.
