Gravity, Character Outline – Inkli

“Her name was Holli, though I affectionately referred to her as, “Inkli”, amongst our own private communications. The name had no reference, or inference. I tried to send her a text message, when we had first met, but my dictionary did not recognize “Holli”, and instead suggested, “Inkli”. The name stuck.

Inkli, like me, was a loner. She preferred the sanctity of her own mind, and this often shone through in my attempts at speaking with her, as her responses were often so long in coming, and so broken up in thought, that it was clear that she drifted in and out frequently.”

(Super friendly,  nice to everyone, but often taken for rude because of her regular drifting in and out of conversation. This also causes her to frequently pick up on conversations at strange times, and say interesting things.  Sometimes seems to read minds. Also has a tendency to have different focus, or to concentrate on the less prominent. Possible current or past relationship between Inkli and Tisdale, though you, will never know. She is of Native American background, though sometimes mistaken for Asian.)

“The black rifts in the sky, procured a certain dread in me that I would struggle to explain to you. Each morning I awoke, and looked out the window, expecting a sunrise. No sunrise now existed; only the deafening blackness of the rift. “Experts”, had said on many occasions that they were close to a solution… but I had little hope for it. To me, these black holes sucked in more than just light, or matter, or air, or dirt. They swallowed my hope. To gaze into the blackness of one of these, was to stare into the blackened, cauterized, heart, of ever inevitable fate.

“Beautiful aren’t they?” Inkli’s voice by my side, jarred my out of my thoughts.

“I certainly wouldn’t say so!” My voice revealed my shock. “What about this is beautiful to you?!”

“You don’t need to be so negative! Just look at the patterns here! These must have taken months to sew!”

“Huh? Oh…" I had not realized that while the rest of us had been gazing up at the sky, Inkli had been admiring the stacks of handmade vests in the corner. Maria was gazing pleasantly at Inkli, a shadow of a smirk on her face.?

having some trouble with the formatting pasting correctly to SC... so dont worry about that.

I find Inkli quite interesting.  One pattern I see developing in our character development is that for the large part your 'friends' are quite aloof.  Not unfriendly by any means, but at the same time not particularly communicative in a 'normal' understanding of the concept.  I like that.  I wonder how far off the mark I actually am in my thinking.

By the way, I think you treatment of dialog, to the degree I have seen it, is quite good.  It is comfortable to read, not clunky.  It is clear who is speaking without a lot of he saids.

oh? Ive always had trouble with dialogue... trying to avoid the "he said" "she said" "she replied" "she murmured"

it stresses me out  trying to keep them all separate without all that crap in the middle and trying not to be repetitive.

You might have noticed, that I mostly have avoided dialogue.

and my finished concept is likely to cut out even more of it, as I believe I will be taking out all of my so far made characters and sticking to Niko, and possibly one other. As this was a writing based on my dream, I realize that it is wandering further and further from it, and I no longer have the edge of being able to obtain my story straight from my dreams.

Finished concept is likely to involve very few characters, and tell itself almost solely from my own thoughts.

Ah! If this is to be a short, that will work well, but anything longer might require that you use the dream as a springboard into a greater story.   I find it quite difficult to straight up relate a dream w/o some elaboration and outright adding or creating events that never took place but  perhaps could have, had the dream been longer.

One rare exception was the dream I described in some detail here.  The dream itself was quite vivid with many variations.  Besides I was in reality asking for some input as to possible significance of said dream.  Altering it would have defeated my purpose.

I understand that a single, simple dream, simply by their nature, would be briefly explained, and in effect... briefly noted.

My dreams the last year or so have been more than that. More than I can explain. They have made me see things that humanity has no word for. They have made me feel things, that I cannot explain, cannot write, no matter how many words, pages, books, or blogs you gave me. My dreams have brought me to the knowledge of facts, that were impossible for my brain to have known, and yet, they were right there in my dreams, pressing themselves into my consciousness, as if to spite their own impossibility. I have seen things in my dreams AND recorded them on paper, that I would later experience at a later day, to the full and exact detail to which I had previous written my dream. NOT a dejavu. a FULL reenactment of what I had already seen and written.

so.... my dreams are not exactly as they normally are.. and I do believe I can make this into a fully comprehensible, written book. new details are added to my consciousness nightly.

OK. I am beginning to understand.  I'm a tad obtuse at times.

The character creation system allows for a great deal of character customization. Players are able to radically adjust height, weight and scale of various body parts (for example, creating a 4 ft. character with a giant head)....
