I played with some nail art to dress up my fingernails for July 4th. I did it myself, but it was my treat to myself for improving my diabetic a1c from last quarter. I took a picture. I hope you can see the detail well enough.
They are white and pink flowers with tiny silver beads. I applied one coat of Sally Hansen Nylon Acrylic top coat, then the stickers, then two more coats of the acrylic.
It's stayed on really well. I did it Thursday evening and it is still looking great. I've had my hands in dishwater many times since. :-) That's usually a manicure killer for me. I think the acrylic makes the difference.
By the way, I improved my diabetic a1c from 6.5 to 6.2. I was so worried it was going to be worse yet because it has felt like such a struggle these past three months. I was so pleasantly surprised!
I have been trying really hard, but it wasn't feeling like I was succeeding. My journal reflects that. I can feel the doc's speech coming when he reads it. "Will you stop worrying, CW! You've improved!" I will say though, the meditation I've been doing does help that. I'm sure he'll be glad of that and want me to continue.
Anyway, I wanted a non-food treat. So, I decided on fun, festive fingernails. :-)
