I'm taking a break from doing the hand sewing on uni's quilt -- in the summer, a big quilt piled in your lap can get a touch sweaty.

Today was very cool and cloudy -- distinctly un-summerlike.  But I like it.  Heat and humidity are low on my list of good things.  Wouldn't have minded some sun, but you take what you can get.

We went to mrMimi's brother's for a cookout, that turned into a cookin.  I took CutiePie's quilt over to her.  She proceeded to drag it all around the house and make a fort with it.  Ah well.  It's meant to be loved and used.  I generally don't make quilts that need special treatment.  ( Yours may be an exception to that rule, uni, simply because I know what it means to you.)

Told ya it was extremely pink and purple.  CP had put on her pink satin princess dress and her pink glittery tiara (made me think of pickers...) and was using the quilt as a cape when we left.  She is such a little character.

I can't remember the last time I had peach ice cream  Saw an ad for it on TV this afternoon, so we stopped on the way home and mrM graciously agreed to buy me a pint of it.  It was sooooo good, and I am soooo tempted to sneak back into the kitchen and grab a spoon and get busy.  Right out of the carton.  A bowl seems superfluous.  But I'm sure B expects me to share.  But it's mine, all mine.

Well, back to the sewing grindstone.  That uni is a stern taskmaster.  ;)

That's a perfect quilt for a little girl Mimi. Glad Cutie Pie is enjoying her quilt from Auntie Mimi.

Good to hear that you had a good 4th of July...with peach ice cream to boot. Cool.

Sounds like a pleasant day.  Cook-in huh, anything like a sit-in?  lol  Sorry about the rainout.   Lovely quilt, a tad too pink for my tastes though.   Oh, and I love peach ice cream, wanna share?

cutiepie's quilt is gorgeous!  I bet she is just thrilled to have something especially made for her.  Maybe I'll buy a sparkly tiara to wear too so that when I receive my gramma's quilt from you that I can celebrate properly.

All this talk about ice cream has made me hungry.  I may have to indulge in my favorite ice cream ..... Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream. :)

Thank you so much for finishing the quilt.  I'd have undoubtably mucked it up good and ruined the work she started.
