how many of us have lived through hell? how many of us have recounted it in these pages? who are my brothers and sisters, not because they believe in me, but because we have shared a common fate? that thought comforts us all.

Oh trav my dear friend.  I am in the fire right now.  If i were to have someone join me that would be wonderful but it would also be very selfish of me to wish that.

It is not the fire that hurts though is it?  It is what seems to put us in the line of fire in the first place. . .

btw - thank you darling for including me in your list of 'US'

a mighty impressive list of survivors, huh?  Yes, sharing our moments/days/years of hell give us common ground.  We all of us know that the man or woman beside us sees us and supports us.  It's a great comfort to know that they have been there and will be there again if hell finds us again. :)

Its been a great fire, warmed me many times when otherwise I might have been left in the cold of loneliness in dark and dreary evenings. I've been able to say things as I feel them, throw a fit now and then, and even get stupid without fear of being misunderstood on a personal level.

Its been a good trip and I wouldn't trade these people for anyone.

Yes, we have gone through the fire and we have also celebrated our lives together. I have appreciated and enjoyed all of you. Thanks Trav, nice thoughts.

Thanks for including me in the list trav, going through the fire together and knowing that you always have someone here and ready to lend support is a very special thing,
I am always here for you.

I guess what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. It builds our character and we definitely find out who our friends are.  (of which I am blessed with many here.)

Here's hoping all is well with you.

    What fire?

Sorry.  Was too busy enjoying the view to realize that something was burning.  :P

That's a list of some fine people there.

Thanks for including me in it.  :)

    First....define fire.
But, yes, each of us in that list has had or still has their own personal incendio (as in Dante or Harry Potter....).

Coming here and finding similar troubled souls does make one feel less alone, more validated in their questioning and more supported in their longing and needs.

As BeyBey said, there are several people here i am more than happy of having met.........hope they reciprocate my feeling for them.......:-)

Smiling @ CJ.......are you ok today?
  • Hegemone said on Jul 05, 2009....
Well yes it would seem many of us have been caught in this fire that sometimes burns a little too much, and at times needs to be extinguished, if even only temporarily, by just being able to take time out to talk about it and feel the support in knowing that we're not all alone.

Trav my friend, there have been days when the friends I turned to were you guys.  So much easier to bear my soul here.  I can count on 1 hand the number of people in my (real) life that know that I write here.  For me, it is the equivalent of allowing someone to read my diary.   It still amazes me that a group of virtual strangers have become so important to me these past 2 years.  We always distinguish between here and RL (real life) but you know what?  You guys are real life friends.  If we are there for one another, does it honestly matter if it is a written word or spoken word?  No.  The comfort and friendship ALL of you have shown me has been as important and had just as much bearing on my life as the friends I can physically see each day.

You are one of those people cheering me on.  I hope I've done the same for you.

Through the fire.  Whatever fire that may be.  It makes us stronger.

    hi trav.
jiggy and i roasted some dogs and mallows over a backyard bonfire last night.
i guess that means we're in.

  • RollingC said on Jul 05, 2009....
Well gee, I haven't roasted anything lately, but I'm learning up my skills at using the skillet.   Got a long ways to go before I can say I mastered it but I'm coming along just fine in cooking up boneless short ribs and chicken filets.   :^)  Rc

Ps..on a personal note I been through the fire a couple of times in my life, just like everyone else.

Who do you feel should be in the SOULCAST HALL OF FAME ?
You can say a few words if you would like!...
You know what?

I try and I try to just be here and have fun, but I often end up feeling like it was work, in spite of my claims that it's just nice to be here and write what's on your mind.

I get paranoid. I get upset. I get lo...
