I knew this kid once. A really gifted musician, super-talented. Bordered on being a genius, you know? Back in the day, he was a state ranked pianist and a nationally ranked violinist. Been playing since the age of 4. A prodigy in every way.
He was also one of the more pessimistic people I knew.
He was convinced that there was a cloud that hung over his house. Even if it was sunny elsewhere.
It's cloudy out today. The sky seems cold and indifferent.
Perhaps it's the unseasonably cool weather but I can't help but feel a little nostalgic today. The way the clouds hang so low, it looks almost like winter.
Winter in July... Isn't that the darndest thing? It's like I'm in South America or something.
