What I thought was going to happen did happen. Woke up this morning to pouring rain. I think it's actually raining heavier now. After watching the forecast, it's going to do this all day with only small breaks periodically. Guess what that means. Yup, if you guessed that the bonfire was canceled, you're right! The pile will be too wet and the ground is certainly going to be too wet. My FIL will have a conniption fit if we try to get people down there because it will be inevitable that somebody will play in the mud and blame it on getting stuck because they didn't realize it was that bad ... but the damage will still be done.
My husband is still debating on even BBQing. He can, he just has to move the grill over to the big shed, people will eat inside one way or the other. I'm all for that option. He was thinking of just not BBQing at all. See, here's my thought process on that. His dad already bought all the meat, he has to BBQ at some point. Certain people whom we're not looking forward to being there knew there would be BBQ and are coming for it. They'll most likely still come today even though it's raining. If he pushes the BBQ off until tomorrow then that means we have about a 90% chance of having TWO days with those certain people and I do not want two days with those people. One day is one day too many.
At least I don't have to give my horse her betadyne rub down, and since it's raining I can't very well fly spray her and expect that to stay on. So we'll just have to go out and give her her grain/meds later on and that'll be all. Makes it relatively easy. So because of some rain nearly our whole day has opened up. The thing that worries me is that my husband called a couple of people and told them to be here at noon, figuring on no rain and some other activities going on ... and now instead of calling them and telling them nevermind, to come whenever they want, he's just assuming they'll know from the rain not to come. Uh ... not the people he told, they're not good about that stuff. It requires a thought process to figure out 'Oh, it's raining we probably can't do whatever it is we were going to do, so I'll come later.' If you don't have anything to think with, that thought process isn't possible.
So as it is now, we're still going to go get his gas, and I suppose still something to drink because there's still the clubhouse. Then we're also going to throw the last load of laundry in, and from there ... I don't know since it's raining and we can't do anything outside. What's even nicer is that we got all the other normal weekend stuff done early so there isn't much else to worry about, just time to relax I suppose. So off I go.
Is the weather screwing with anybody else's plans?
