I thought you were supposed to read other authors because they had a message that you agreed with, not because this was some sort of collabrative circle jerk. There is a reason why I've subscribed to basically nobody. Of my subscriptions I think two were people I added on a whim because I wanted to find their posts later and I still have less than ten.
I don't know if you subscribe to me or not but if I'm supposed to subscribe back and give you a reach around go on and delete me. That's NEVER been what it was about for me.

wow. i don't read other peoples posts to get them to read mine. i do it to broaden my knowledge and introduce other thoughts and opinions into my own thought processes; to grow as a person. i blog for pretty much the same reason, but in reverse..to open and empty my mind of all of the stuff it gets full of so that there is room for new ideas. These ideas may not change who i am, but the certainly are entertaining and thought provoking.

fearing....it's about the reciprocation.....I believe that the active members of this community are what keeps it afloat.....we don't necessarily have to read each others every post, but we can subscribe to those who are active.....scan through the titles....comment on what interests us.....it doesn't do you much good to have 500 readers if you're not here.
sean......on the contrary.....I often seek out people I disagree with and I subscribe to them anyway....one of the 1st I subscribed to was bloc.....him and I are polar opposites, but he is intelligent and interesting and a challenge to debate....so are you.....both of which I have unsubscribed from.....I go to each of your posts....create an opposing argument and fan the flames!.....I have been involved on some pretty long threads....even pm'd others to get involved.....but it is somewhat insulting to me that neither of you seem to want to lend your credibility to my effort.......I really don't care if people that are simply not interested in the topic don't comment....but I would like to see this place grow, and I think that if we have more thought provoking things on the feature page, then we have a chance of achieving that.

The stuff that makes it to to the front page gets there by being commented on. it has nothing to do with how many people read you. And I NEVER use that tab to read stuff by people I'm subscribed to.
I would like to see this place grow too and I want to be one of the top read posters but as ALIEN pointed out (in a complimentry way I might add) I've gathered readers without the required circle jerk that you are supporting here. I don't TRADE readerships, seriously I"m subscribed to like four people.

D6fer~I've wanted to respond to your post but have been trying to decide what to say. Personally, I do not post just to see how many comments or readers I can pull in. I write because I want/need to. I do often read and or, comment on your blogs and though I seldom agree with your viewpoint, I respect your right to believe as you do. Isn't that a wonderful thing about SC and, indeed, our country?
