Words that pass through my lips as I’m waking up or falling asleep.  I’ve come to realize that “they” send me messages, not only while I’m asleep, but also while I’m in that twilight zone… half asleep and half awake… either just before falling asleep or just after waking up.  They can be words, sentences or phrases, and some of them are so bizarre that they have the power to jolt me back to my senses.  I never used to record them, because I figured that if I wasn’t asleep, they didn’t count as dreams.  But I started paying attention, and they got to be so interesting, that I started writing them down about a year ago and looking to them for whatever little nuggets of wisdom they can offer.  Since then, they’ve become my favorite part of “dreaming,” not only for their weirdness, but also because they seem to cut right through all the crap and get right to the message (not that I always get it).

Anyway, as my introduction to this group, I thought I’d share some of them with you.  I’d be tickled as anything if you’d give me your feedback on anything that strikes your fancy.

“By letting go of the material world.”

“For some people, eating is a daily casual event.  For others, it is like a prayer.”

“Triangle.”

“There’s a burning sensation.”

“The optical properties of light”

“The soul is like the internet… one more machine in the vast search for knowledge.”

“Welcome to Joker Place.”

“Suki Venit!”

“The Elixir of Life”

“He started praying for the earth to swallow his little brother, and the earth swallowed his little brother.”

“There’s safety in numbers, and there’s even more safety in more numbers.”

“There are different ways to talk about an increase in quantity.”

“It isn’t necessary for everyone to go to heaven.  If some of us do it, it’s so strong.”

“If you start from scratch… if you have nothing in your head, for sure it’s law.”

“A prisoner in my own house”

“Human Sacrifice”

“Doing everything separate, but then doing things together”

[This turned out to be a hint for a past life that I was researching at the time]

“Fata benata!”

“There is no fireplace.”

“We have to make sure that doors close and doors stay open.”

“…and although Rodrigo found fulfillment in most areas of his life, he found it lacking in one vital area, and so he sought solace in…”

“His wife is dead.”

“Bayern”

[This was a hint about the location of a past life I was researching at the time]

“I understand bits and pieces.”

“A25”

“Trifoglio”

[I had asked for information on the location of a particular past life that I’m still researching, and this word, which is Italian for clover or shamrock… literally three-leaved… combined with a dream about some ferrets that were shaped like corkscrews, lead me to believe the location may be in County Cork, Ireland].

“___ decimated England.”

“There’s never been anything more beautiful.”

“I marveled at the simplicity of the equation.”

“They say that there is no possible outcome.”

“It’s a little tough at the bottom.”

[As opposed to tough at the top?]

“Taking back consumer research products”

“Just be grateful that I’ve decided to allow you into my life.”

[This sentence came to me just before I fell asleep, after having requested information about the female aspect of my inner personalities.  The dream that followed confirmed that this is a very strong part of me].

“I don’t want it all to end this way.”

[These words came to me just after an afternoon nap with a vision of a beautiful, blonde woman with too much makeup… and combined with the dreams I’d had the previous two nights, I took it as a reminder to watch the next episode of Desperate Housewives… Edie had just been electrocuted in the previous week’s episode, and we didn’t know if she’d live or die].

“Wisdom moves in circles.”

“Choose not to reveal it to anyone.”

“In order to end the duality in the marriage vows”

“I only made a mistake once, and that cost billions of lives.”

“Grupo de Fortaleza”

“Fear of Crossing Over”

[This came after a request for information on the Mission of my Soul].

“Afraid of Losing Contact with Myself”

[This came on the same night as the one above… asking for info on the Mission of my Soul].

“Donkey vs. ___”

“Tom Jones has the answer.”

“Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…”

“Sunlight provides 2/3 of it.  Artificial light reduces the effect dramatically.”

Kruu-Kruu...wait a moment....are you saying you mumble all those things while half asleep?

Girl, your mind must be a very busy place...lol...

I don't have this kind of "messages" through sleeping ....they tend to come to me while eating chocolate, reading or listening music...

If they ever come to me....;p

  • diabolicdame said on Jul 03, 2009....

I kinda know what you mean kru.. these waking dreams in the twilight zone.. I have them too and.. its more like premonitions.. its happened a few times now.. I'd just be lost in some though.. some scene.. imagning something happening.. I'm thinkin bout ppl's reactions and my own.. then when come out of it I think its just stupid imagination.. 'i think too much'.. but a lot of times exactly that thing happens sometime soon. Strange stuff I tell ya.. you messages seem very peculiar!

  • kruuyai said on Jul 03, 2009....
ginger:  Yep...the stuff just comes to me.  I never used to pay attention to those things... thinking that my mind was just wandering before I fell asleep, but once I started paying attention, I realized they were more like dreams than anything that I would normally have running through my mind.  My mind is a very busy place, indeed.

diabolic:  That's pretty cool.  I don't know that mine are premonitions, but they certainly are strong messages.  Thanks for stopping by.
  • gingersoul said on Jul 03, 2009....
Kruu....see the fact is... i can have extremely vivid recollections of my dreams .......sometimes they are so powerful to wake me up in the middle of their flwoing......more often than i would i wake up in tears...sobbing.....

But none of the lucky ones that have slept with me (..lol...) ever told me of having witnessed me mumbling anything....

Well...unless you count those silly nonsense i might whisper in those wee hours of the morning......*wink*

Your messages seem been fished from the subconscious stream of your thoughts.....the white mind, as someone called it...
Evidently you are extremely into these topics...and when you dream your mind elaborate them...and spit them out...
  • kruuyai said on Jul 03, 2009....
ginger:  I don't usually speak these words out loud (although it has happened).  They are usually just a strong presence in my consciousness.  I haven't heard that expression, "white dream" before, but I just learned that this state between sleeping and waking is called hypnogogia.  Aren't you glad you know that?  :)
  • kruuyai said on Jul 03, 2009....
Damn!  I just realized that when I first edited this post, it chopped off half of my text!  Okay, well now I have the whole thing up.  I haven't posted here in so long, I forgot how sucky this site works and all the little tricks you have to use to get results.  :(
  • Lucytorial said on Jul 03, 2009....

wow Kruu, the Bayern thing interests me, miten bayern is one that I remember all the time... not sure what that means though.

The presence of mind to write these down is brilliant, often I will allow them to float through my mind and they are forgoten mostly.

  • gingersoul said on Jul 03, 2009....
Kruu .....yes, i noticed you added more of those mumblings.....lol.....

Oh, i was already happy to know that.....

I can also tell you that the term hypnagogia comes from the Greek words "hupnos" (sleep) and "agoge" (trasnport, convey).

Aren't you happy to know this too?....:-)

The funniest of all these words of yours? "Tom Jones has the answer"...

    You rock, girl!....lol...
  • Me-Myself&I said on Jul 03, 2009....

Hi! well that was interesting. :~) there were a few that made me wonder but one stood out .... we have to make sure that doors close and doors stay open. huh ....

close the doors and keep them shut so .... what is behind it stays! but then there are doors that one must never close so .... whatever can always enter, stay connected.

well that is what came to my mind when i read it. *smile*

hope all is well with you! take care ~see ya

kruugirl- Now, this is interesting. Some could come from an average dream as shown by
'taking back consumer research products'. And I find 'the cost of billions of lives' to be way out there. But many contain wisdom or possibly direction. Several are intriguing such as 'welcome to joker place'.

I'm not prone to talking in my sleep, dozing off, waking, or otherwise. At least others have only mentioned it rarely in my life. My wife gives sermons, though. She describes things in detail while sitting up, then lays back down to supposedly uninterrupted sleep.

I've noticed my dozing off is like falling into darkness and waking is many times marked by wondering where I am.

I wish I could do what you describe. I'd write them down too. I really liked your second one, 'For some people, eating is like a daily casual event. For others it is like a prayer.'

this one really caught my attention...but i don't know why? i'd like to hear more about it.

i think i've had this type thing happen to me now and again but it's always just a foggy thing .

  • Alyss said on Jul 04, 2009....
Goodness kruu what a busy mind you have! I rather like “I marveled at the simplicity of the equation.”
  • kruuyai said on Jul 04, 2009....
Lucy:  I think miten Bayern means Bavarian myths, although it should rather be something like Bayrische miten.  Maybe you should see what you can google about Bavarian myths.  Who knows?  It might spark a past life memory.  I used to just float them through my mind and let them drift away, too, but I started paying attention about a year ago, and since then, I've paid more attention, because they just seem to come out of nowhere.  Last night, before I fell asleep, I had a visual of a pirate with a beard and mustache, and a red bandana on his head (no, he wasn't Johnny Depp, but close enough), and he was looking at me so intensely, right in the eyes, with sort of a mean look, and whispering something that I couldn't make out.  I was definitely not asleep, and not completely awake either, but this jolted me back to full wakefulness, I think because I realized that I wasn't dreaming.

  • kruuyai said on Jul 04, 2009....
ginger:  I know, I thought that Tom Jones one was pretty funny, too... and the answer is... "It's not unusual to be loved by everyone."  lol  Actually, I think it was referring to a Facebook friend by the same name, and that, combined with the fact that one of my dreams that night starred another Facebook friend, suggests to me that the answer to the question I posed before nodding off (how should I go about working on my new theory of spiritual evolution?) was to stop spending so much time on Facebook!
  • kruuyai said on Jul 04, 2009....
MM&I:  Yeah, I thought that one was pretty cool, too.  Kind of a different version of "When one door closes, another door opens."  I was doing the horse course at the time and going through a lot of stuff, so I need to go back and ponder the meaning a bit more deeply.
  • kruuyai said on Jul 04, 2009....
beyondce:  Yeah, these are fun.  I guess "pass through my lips" was not the best choice of words, because I don't actually utter them out loud.  They're just messages that I receive.  Sometimes I hear them, and sometimes I just perceive them.  I liked that one about eating, too, because it really is true, and you can apply it to just about anything.  I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that a friend of mine was reading Eat, Love, Pray (or something like that).  I don't know if that was around the same time or not.  My favorites are "The soul is like the internet... another machine in the vast search for knowledge."  and   "Suki Venit!"  (I have no idea what Suki Venit means, but it was so strong...)
  • kruuyai said on Jul 04, 2009....
fraggles:  That one came to me when I specifically requested information on the characteristics of the feminine aspect of my personality.  It came to me shortly after I laid my head on the pillow, and it really blew me away.  I just thought, "Whoa, here is someone you don't want to mess with."  At the same time, I was thrilled to know that there is someone that strong living inside of me, and as it turns out, she is also extremely compassionate (sometimes too much so) and very wise.  The main dream about her personality that night involved a dragon bowl, which was interesting, because my tail is a dragon's tail.
  • kruuyai said on Jul 04, 2009....
Alyss:  I sure do, don't I?  I have no idea what that one was talking about, but I have been really getting into sacred geometry and quantum physics lately, so I guess it could be related to that.
  • queenparanoid said on Jul 10, 2009....
without being long winded i want to say that you are soooo interesting!
  • moonriver said on Jul 10, 2009....
    hi kruu
whenever i pull all-nighters at work or at home, i notice a somewhat similar pattern.
first, i fall into a sleepy, distracted mode for about an hour or two--what i call my hora de peligro, or mental twilight.
    then comes the interesting part:

one part of my brain remains wide awake, and goes back to focus on whatever it is i'm working on... writing or editing a paper, doing spreadsheets, discussing a topic via email or chat...
but another part of my brain goes into the dream process without my permission.

if i'm in quiet surroundings (e.g. no music, no other person to talk to), i start hearing disembodied voices that talk nonsense, or sometimes accidental sense.
if it's very dark (like, when i was on guard duty in my guerrilla days), grotesque shadowy figures start moving in my peripheral vision.

i dismiss them as dream fragments that don't quite take off because my wakeful mind remains in control.
i'm certain they are whispers of my brain rarin' to dive into dreamy waters.
after maybe a couple hours, these micro-hallucinations stop.
then i can work, fully alert and without any distraction, through the next morning onwards.

curiously, this doesn't happen (or at least, not that i'm aware of) during the reverse process of waking up from the dream state.
sometimes i do wonder what these voices mean, but i've long stopped trying to interpret them, or fit them logically into my wakeful-hours world.

i think that all these... dreams, hallucinations, full-blown insanity... are all interconnected, sort of like bands of color in a broad spectrum of background-mode mental processes, and that our operating system allots a bit of processing time for them to play their respective roles, something like computer programs working in the background.

  • kruuyai said on Jul 18, 2009....
muun:  Sorry, I didn't see your comment before.  Yes, dream fragments would be a good way to describe most of what I experience.  Some, though, are downright spooky.  Real voices, very realistic visions, etc.  Maybe I'm schizophrenic.  (I just watched A Beautiful Mind last night...lol).

owk:  Would love to hear about them.  :)
  • moonriver said on Aug 27, 2009....
    hi kruu.

there have been medical experiments on people who suffered from loss of sight, or of hearing, or sense of smell, due to some brain damage.

when certain parts of their conscious brains were stimulated by tiny electric pulses analogous to natural synapse fluctuations, these people said they suddenly saw very specific images, heard very specific spoken words or sounds, or smelled very distinct smells, sensations flooding in like from out of nowhere.

these sensations stopped as soon as the electric stimuli stopped, but triggered a cascade of associated thoughts quite similar to sleep-state dreams.

one inescapable conclusion is that our brains are accurate and high-capacity recorders of objective sense data streams.

it is the internal processing and playback that accounts for the fuzziness and fluidity. not to mention the occasional murkiness and quirkiness due to alcohol, drugs, physical damage, hormonal imbalance, full moons, and (among lust-crazed males) the brazen sight of nekkid garbonzas.

ah but kruu and ginger, you're talking about tiny garbanzos.
i'm talking about hefty garbonzas here.
i'm talking garbonza fu by the dozen.
han't you ever heard about joe bob briggs and his obsession with huge garbonzas?

    Moon...you mean her garbonzas?......lol...

this might be off-topic, but i have a confession to make.
i've been a joe bob briggs fan since the 1980s when he wrote a movie column, later turned into cult classic books.
i treasure my copy of joe bob goes to the drive-in.
he's my kind of intellectual nerd, actually... ;-p
