this is a really old blog, which is being re -posted because of something i read in the newspaper today about Leonardo da Vinci's time and the Turin Shroud...the article seems to say that Leonardo faked the Shroud...i read it and ended up thinking of a blog i wrote more than two years back...

I was just reading this article yesterday on “TIME”…
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1541284,00.html
It was funny as hell, somehow reminded me of a short story I read eleven years ago…
I didn’t remember the writer and the name of the story…just that he was a Brit and lived in Sri Lanka…not a good start…to start with
So here I am trying to find it at google…with some success…because thankfully I remember the writer…and finally before I banged my head into the wall…
Arthur C Clarke…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_C._Clarke
So here I am searching for the “story” I read…
This is time consuming, but heck it was one hell of a story…
And why I linked the two, please don’t ask, I have repeatedly written I have a very convoluted thinking process…
Yeah the name was “The Sentinel”… (I think that’s the name, if not please do correct me)…

The story is about the human race ending, and one person has to carry some objects and save them in a special place…
The human race ends…and the story moves on for about some centuries…
The aliens come to earth and find the treasure left behind by the humans…
In it happens to be spool of film…
They somehow create some equipment to see what is in the reel…
They think what they are seeing happens to be the extinct “human race”…
They watch the film mesmerized…
And after the film ends there comes the caption on the screen “Made by Walt Disney”…
The story is on these lines, as I don’t remember much of it after more than a decade this is all I tell…

Now that’s funny the aliens will always think that the cartoon characters they saw were the “real” human race…

Now the Mona-Lisa…the mysterious painting of Leonardo da Vinci…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mona_Lisa
Imagine after a couple of centuries scientist find somewhere through some new scanner/light/anything Vinci has written “I got you all fooled, this is me in drag”…
Now that’s funny…
Use your imagination it works wonders…

    hey gingersoul,
the blog is more than two and a half years old i think, maybe that's why its such a drag (not that my regular ones aren't :-) )...i know about the speculations also, but sadly there has never been any confirmations...but considering Leonardo's quirky self, i can fully accept him doing something like this :-) ...
    ciya...later ;-)

mona looks like george washington to me. the striking thing about the painting is that weird background. i have no idea why the painting got so famous. no idea at all. george washington in a dress, without his stupid wig on.

    hey lfbno7,
good point :-) ...i don't know much about art, unless a teenage (to current :-) ) enchantment for Van Gogh's work can be considered one...but i always did think that Mona Lisa was someone in drag even with that "subtle" smile and "glowing" face...probably Leonardo on one of his really good days...:-)
