Explanation anyone>> Exodus 6:2-3...2And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:3And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them......So..let me test my understanding. God was talking to Moses, He told Moses, My name is God Almighty, but I got another name that no one else knows, and that name is Jehovah. WOW!! That means when Moses went to deliver the people from Pharoah in Egypt he had a new name to present them with and that name is to represent God. Must have been a pretty hard job for Moses to get them to believe.

hi this is a basic explanation don't really have much else, I think Jehovah in this verse means God our saviour, and the Lord wanted moses to go to the people and save them, so the name was representing God as our saviour rather than previously being God the creator. Maybe this name change would have helped them to believe a little bit more. I hope this helps some! But just to throw another question in, I always wondered how Moses felt on his way to talk to the people, did he feel empowered because the Lord was with him, or really really nervous that no one would believe?
