As it marks its 10th anniversary, Andrew Raggatt's Australian brand that could (Raggatt, you'll recall, left UGG Ultra Tall Boots to found Emu), is flexing its muscle. Raggatt's on a mission: He envisions three pairs of Emus in every closet. A brand rep told Insider Emu expects 2004 year-end sales to exceed $35 million. Helping matters will be the just-inked, five-year distribution and marketing deal for Germany, on the heels of similar deals in Japan, Spain, the U.K. and Italy, as well as beefed-up operations in China and Canada. The brand has high hopes for Europe, where shearling mania has yet to take hold. At the recent edition of GDS, more than 200 new accounts were opened. Get ready for more Emu: Insider hears outerwear is in the works for a late 2005/early 2006 debut. CHOO GIRL: Kate Beckinsale is on a roll. After "Pearl Harbor" failed to make her a bona fide star, the actress finally has a hit movie with "Van Helsing," in which she co-stars with Hugh Jackman, and last week she married "Underworld" director Len Wiseman in a Vera Wang gown and Swarovski-crystal-encrusted Jimmy Choos. Next up for Beckinsale is a role as Ava Gardner in the Oscar hopeful "The Aviator." HIT THE ROAD: When the folks at Magnum caught wind of a nearby taping of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," they saw a great branding opportunity. After hearing the news from Jeff Saccullo, owner of Dom's Outdoor Outfitters, in Livermore, Calif., the marketing team stocked its "mobile footwear center" with 250 pairs of steel-toe M1 boots and high-tailed it over to the house in question, located in Livermore. "We decided to seize the opportunity and arrived on set two hours later," Cheryl Rebsamem, PR and advertising manager, told Insider. Magnum gave away shoes to the show's stars, including studly team leader Ty Pennington (left, with Rebsamem), production staff, construction workers and volunteers. Though Magnum won't receive any airtime, the brand does get a mention in the closing credits and on the show's Website. The episode airs May 23 at 8 p.m. on ABC. TRADING SPACES: Insider hears several brands are securing new positioning at the upcom/ing edition of WSA. Royal Elastics will move from the Sands main floor to Mandalay Bay in search of a bigger fashion fix. Medium also is leaving the Sands main floor. The hip, heretofore men's-only brandwill show in the Venetian Suites, where it will debut its sleek new casual women's sneakers. SOLID GOLD: Super-hot Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas has teamed with master jeweler H. Stern to put a luxurious spin on the simple rubber silhouette. The price? If you have to ask, forget about it. Two pairs in white (pictured) with gold mesh and gold feathers carry a $32,000 price tag a black pair with 1,532 gold feathers and 414 diamonds costs $17,000 and two pairs in brown with a delicate chain and gold feathers price at $2,100.
