UGG Sundance Boots is a unit of Goleta, Calif.-based Deckers Outdoors, which also markets the Teva and Simple shoe brands. The UGG Ultra Tall Boots average between $145-185 retail. Clogs, moccasins and slippers are also part of the collection. Outerwear, which will hit stores this fall, will retail between $700-1,200. The brand is carried in high-end department stores including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Marshall Field's, Bloomingdale's and specialty stores. "Our advertising targets luxury consumers, predominately women," said UGG Nightfall Boots president Connie Rashwain. "We're going after the Vogue customer."
Ads will run in the October, December and January issues of Vogue and December's O: The Oprah Magazine. The campaign was handled in-house. Creative features four executions and shows
a model wearing different styles of the apparel and footwear, including the Sundance, the Ultra boot and the Classic.
A favorite with the Hollywood set, UGG Classic Mini Boots has partnered with A-list celebrities such as Hugh Grant, Charlize Theron, Britney Spears and others in a promotion called "Art & Sole" to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Oceana, a non-profit advocacy group protecting the world's oceans. Musicians, artists, designers and actors will handpaint UGG Classic Tall Boots Ultra Tall sheepskin boots which will be displayed at select Nordstrom stores.
