I was shocked to read that several ex-servicemen have not been allowed a settlement for their injuries due to the 1960’s nuclear testing period.
A court in French Polynesia has dismissed nearly half the nuclear compensation claims it is hearing from former workers on Mururoa Atoll.
Eight cases for compensation were filed in French Polynesia, five of them from the families of workers who have died.
But the court has only upheld one case, ordering payments of $US11,000 ($13,700) each to three children of a former worker.
