I awoke yesterday at around 9 am. the sun was shining brightly though the shades. quite brightly indeed.
Perhaps this was to be a day to remember. Yes perhaps I would have fun today.
I went outside. It was hot.
Very hot.
I looked around me... where were the children.. the people shopping? The joggers.. the cars??
The trees overhead glimmered strongly, the sun glaring in riveting beams across the pavement.
Birds didnt chirp, dogs didnt bark.
I stepped into the street.. and it hit me.
The sunlight hit my skin like a nuclear blast. the hairs on my arms curling, and falling off.
Gasping for breath, I turned my attention to the skies.
Hanging high, the Sun.
Hanging high.. and stretching wide... the sun stretched across the sky, far larger than it ever had been before.
I
could see on it, that there were black spots.. and its edges were
flaring out wildly, as though reaching out to the earth, perhaps asking
for a bit of serenity, amidst it's own fiery nightmare. Yellow and
orange spots danced quickly across my eyes.... or.. were they... they
were on the Sun itself.
I collapsed.. awaking several hours later.
There
was sound now... God... there was sound... Screams echoed from every
building, the animals that I knew to inhabit the area were made clear
by their own dying wails.
The sun, once a happy figure, was enourmous in the sky. It was becoming hard to see any thing but the fiery orb.
I collapsed..
when I awoke, all was cool.
I stood. All I could see was brilliant.. searing.. light.
am... I.. dead?
I looked up...
The Sun hung in the sky no longer..... the Sun.. was.. the sky...
I looked down at myself... I was white... dusty..... why... am I white??
Blowing
around me. swirling up at my face.. ashes... I dont know from what...
the trees... no longer stood, the pavement was molten red. I stood in
it.. ankle deep.. not feeling it... Nothing now stood.. nothing but
myself, and the true death of the Earth.
I am engulfed... flames explode around me.... and... and...? I ... dont.. remember....
Its black now... and cool.
