Are we ready for mobile TV yet?  I know that I am certainly not; I don’t even have a 3G enabled phone that will run it.  I am also on pay as you go contract that I don’t think allows you to use 3G functions.

I have never been convinced that being tied into a contract for so many texts and minutes a month for a fixed price is a good idea.  I have seen some good deals for around £10 a month offering quite a few minutes and texts, but these have always been with the 3 network which I have heard multiple times that the network coverage is not very good.  And even at £10 a month my current pay and go phone is cheaper.  My provider (Family Mobile) has a log in area on its website that lets you see your spending.  In the first 5 months of the year I spent £40 in total, which is less than any contract around at the moment.  This means that I am not about to cash in my mobilef to move to a contract.

One thing that will happen with mobile TV is that it will come down in price eventually, everything does.  I will just have to wait until then; it will be good to watch while at work when everything is quite, or even in meetings. I was in a meeting today where a teacher was watching the tennis on his computer during a departmental monthly meeting.

There is also the fact that it will take a lot of power to watch TV.  Battery life on mobiles is pretty good but I don’t think it will stand up to the TV.  There is hope though because scientists have invented a new type of battery that allows you to charge it in seconds, instead of the normal overnight ritual so even if you drain it, it wont be long until your up and running again.

I feel the TV is bullshit. You with me? I'm talking about regular television. News, talk shows, soap operas, etc. Give me a break. In the news all you get are twisted stories that change from channel to channel. Talk shows are all fake as hell. Soup oper...
