I decided to get serious today about my Etsy store.  I ordered some business cards and postcards to promote it.  When it asked for my title, I couldn't resist putting "Official Knit Wit".

I got them from a site where they are free except for the shipping.  So I spent a total of $11 rounded up for 250 of the business cards and 100 of the post cards. I didn't think that was bad at all.  I'll order some more as I need them.

My hope is to have a few more things up on the site by the time they get here.  I enjoy the loom knitting a lot and it doesn't really feel like work.  I can't wait until my things start selling.  I know once that I start marketing them, they will.

I have to get the postcards into the hands of people who know and love me.  lol  That probably means my old stomping grounds, old friends, and some family.  I need to generate some word of mouth.  Small towns are great for that and I plan to manipulate it.  Don't I sound calculated?  lol

For those of you who read my post yesterday...

My husband says the spot in his eye seems to be a little smaller today and more gray than black.  I'm taking that as a good sign.

Ohhh-I love Etsy! I will add you to my favorites on there...that way if you start getting on people's favorites it gets around like wildfire.

I don't know if you want a little advice (I use to make a killing on Etsy-but wanted to spend more time wit the kiddo so I closed the shop down), but I'll give it anywho...lol...

...the picture of the item has to be good, (almost professional looking). And show diffrent ones of the same item, up-close...on a real baby...and one plain. I'd look around at some of the top sellers photo's of everyday things and see how they present it.

The Etsy blog has some info on how to make your shop sell too...worth reading.

I truely hope you do good! They are adorable little hats!

    eurekame,
Thanks for the advice.  I'll work on my photography.  Unfortunately, I don't have access to a real baby for the snuggies.   I'm making the best of what I have.  I'll look into some organic yarn.  That's a good idea.

Sounds like you have a good business plan.  I'm sure that once word of mouth gets out that things will start moving along.  Hopefully so well that you'll have trouble keeping up! :)

Glad to hear that your hubby's eye seems to be getting better on it's own.

Glad to hear that your husband's eye is getting better.  Fantastic plan for the website promotion too!  Te he he ... maybe I'll make a banner on my Myspace page for that too, lol, since anybody who visits the site can view it, maybe word of mouth will spread there too.  Never know.  That's when I get time to play around with it though.  You've got big things comin' your way ma'am, I certainly believe that.

    uni,
I hope it takes off really fast too.

I guess we will know the definitive answer about his eye on Friday.  I am a bit scared that he is minimizing it.

    Hege,
You are so good with banners.  It's nice of you to think of me that way.  I think it could be a great deal if things really take off.

    fraggles,
    You are welcome.
