  Maybe it was all three in conjunction?  The tree and the leaf had a talk about it and decided they'd let go together, but for the leaf to get anywhere it really does need to wind.  The wind's job is purely to carry things away so all they need to do is yell for the wind to come (or rustle the leaves).  So the tree and the leaf yelled, the wind came, and off on it's merry way the leaf went.  At least, that's the way I like to think of it, lol.
