This is unexpected. A few minutes ago, my boss called me to his room and told me that apart from my third quarter bonus, I'm also getting a raise effective October 1.
It feels surreal. I did not see this coming.
Boy am I happy today. Moral lesson: work hard, the raise will follow.

You are so lucky to have a cubicle to do your happy dance in, and now a raise. Congratulations! I recently read a book about the ABC's of Financial Success and one of the points is to work hard but it also expresses the importance of saving.
