I always thought that, if it had to happen (and according to God's plans, it did, or else it wouldn't had happened at all), it made sense that the terrorists would attack on 9/11/01. Why? Look at the date. What do they call it for short? 9/11. What's that number? 9-1-1. It's the number we call in emergencies. And 9/11/01 was the biggest emergency this nation has ever seen.
On the front page of our newspaper today, there's a picture of a beautiful five-year-old girl holding on to her father's hand and in her other hand, she holds a bunch of flowers. The caption to that picture says that she lost her mother, a police officer, on this day five years ago.
That broke my heart.
The terrorists didn't only start a war. They took husbands from wives, wives from husbands, sisters from brothers, brothers from sisters, children from parents, parents from children, friends from friends. They killed the innocent. That's what they did. And our horror-stuck country vowed that very day that the deaths of all those people would not be in vain. They died for something. They died so we would take action. They died so that future generations wouldn't have to live in fear. They died so that we would bring their killers to justice. They died for a world without terrorism.
And yes, God was there. He was everywhere. He was very busy that day. Here's a link to check out: http://www.oneangel.net/Cards/moon/9/11.html. Some of you have already read it. Good for you. Read it again. It's amazing proof that God does exist and he's active in every part of our lives.
