Yesterday, I went over to my Mom's where my sister and she were waiting for me to go shopping. My sister pointed out that I was an half hour late. I told her that was better than an hour late. I have a 40 minute drive to get there in the first place.
We had a good day. I found some good deals on clearance racks in my favorite stores. I rarely pay full price on clothes. I wait for them to go on sale or make it to the clearance rack.
Anyway, after I got home I had those strange text messages come across my tv screen again last night.
I went to the bathroom and came into the living room where I stretched out on the sofa. In the lower left hand corner it said, "P?". Then I got the " cu cu cu cu cu cu". If that wasn't freaky enough, when I turned out the light it said, "GN".
I interpret these as meaning the following...
Pee?
See you. See you...
Good Night
This creeps me out because it makes me feel like someone is watching me.
I have no idea how I would block this. I have satellite tv and I live out in a rural area. I have to wonder if someone isn't using Google Earth or something to peek at me. To spy is to be exact about how I feel. I sort of feel stalked in a way.
This happened quite a bit last fall. Then over the winter months it stopped only to start again last night.
It's not the tv acting up. It wouldn't be messing with me like it had a brain and was watching me.
Anyone else ever have anything like this happen?

OK that is seriously screwed up. I mean, up until you said that it was like it had a brain and was watching you I was able to pass it off as some sort of digital glitch ... but when you said that ... now that worries me. I bet your husband hasn't given it a second thought if he knows, does he? Just try to be safe, don't let yourself be vulnerable and definitely stay aware. Hopefully it's nothing, or hopefully it's some stupid kid playing around not even realizing what he's doing and it's no malicious act. -

It does send a chill up my spine when I see it on the t.v. My husband had just gotten home and had him come look at it. The good night was the creepiest because it appeared seconds after I turned off the lamp and he headed for bed.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with the digital switch. Since I have satellite tv I am not affected by the switch. I don't use an antenna for tv. Good thought though, but I really think there is a person behind this.

i'm hellbent on figuring this out and found the above info. i'm sure you've already checked that, but i figured it couldn't hurt to pass it along b/c i never knew that closed caption also had text modes!
also...
a week or so ago my son figured out how to text message to his friend's cell phone from our home computer....download a program, input the cell carrier and # and voila, he's texting without a phone. so, maybe there is some program that can use your tv in the same way. how many really smart people do you know? i'm thinking it would take a really smart and potentially crazy person to put this much effort into freaking you out.

I have been through the remote and have all the closed captioning options turned off as far as I can tell. I don't have the instruction book anymore so I've done the best I can.
There is one person that I can think of that would be smart enough to do this sort of thing. I haven't had contact with that person for almost two years now.
I've given consideration to the fact that it could be paranormal, but I feel in my heart if it was a spirit it wouldn't hide it's identity from me if it could talk to me. Stranger things have happened though.

This is creeping me out just reading it--because I don't understand it. I do remember us talking here about the phone messages on the tv--letting you know you were getting a call or something.

I can't text them back. It's on the tv. I don't see an originating number or address. I live on gravel road that is off the main road and I have dogs that would bark if someone was in the yard. The nearest neighbor is about a quarter mile away.

I didn't know you could get them that way either. I'm going to have to investigate it further. I'll bet they won't be able to do anything about it if I call them. It would be gone off the screen by the time a deputy would get here.
