I seen this on the news this morning. The woman seems a bit crazy at the time, but it happens to the best of us. She was mouthy and uncooperative. But I am too if you write me a ticket for no good reason. I will mouth off and pay my ticket. Fair trade.
Police officers never know what is going to happen when they walk up to a car. They should be commended and RESPECTED for the work they do. (Another one of those thankless jobs.)
That said, she was speeding, acting crazy, etc. bad day...completely unbalanced, I don't know. The officer tasered a 72 year old woman! His superiors are saying he was following procedure. Fine. whatever.
Look at how big he is compared to her? Couldn't he have just knocked her ass up against the car and by force, (wouldn't take much) and handcuffed her? DONE.
He didn't do that. Maybe he was having a bad day or he is unbalanced. I don't consider that an excuse, but I'm not judging.
I would have done the above and if necessary, knock her in the head with the taser. BUT NOT taser her. HELLO? Young people can have heart attacks and die from those things, and he shoots her?
Even with firearms, you don't just shoot because that's what the gun does. That is the last resort. You don't shoot to kill, you shoot to survive. Guns are first and foremost blunt objects.
I know I'm not the only one that thinks that way. He should have used no weapons and necessary force.
Society is wonderful. That's why I always stay inside the lines.
RIGHT.
