I know which type I am, and which my wife is. See if you can determine what you are. There are 7 types of people in this interesting system. Here are the names:

1. slave or servant. 2. artisan. 3. warrior. 4. scholar. 5. sage. 6. priest. 7. king.

A slave (or to be a little less derogatory, a servant) is a people person who can easily be used by others for favors, for errands and chores, maybe even for money. Are you taken advantage of on a regular basis by someone? By a family member or friend? If they keep asking, will you usually end up doing what they want? Then you may be a slave soul. A very good example of this type is Edith Bunker of All In The Family. She was happy to do everything for everyone. In a superficial way this seems to be the lowest soul, but in other ways the highest.

An artisan is creative, working with imagination and making it something real. For example, you want to build a deck on your house, you have a mental picture of what you want, you get your tools out, and you actually create a deck. Or maybe you are an artist or a performer. Anything creative. A lot of singers and actors are artisans (and sages). They are serious about their craft. If you have an affinity with tools (a guitar can be a musical tool) or you are a very creative person, don't rule out artisan.

At this stage I'll mention that all of us are all of the types, but we each have a predominant type. For example, I'm sometimes like a slave, sometimes like an artisan, sometimes like a warrior, and so on, but my predominant type isn't slave, artisan or warrior. My wife's predominant type is slave. She never stops doing favors and chores for others, her kids, her friends, me.

A warrior isn't necessarily someone who enjoys getting into physical fights. One trait of a warrior is a certain direct approach, not complicated or sneaky. A willingness to stand up for yourself and others you have chosen to stand up for. Enjoying a challenge. Another trait common to warriors is lust, sexual desire, lots. Stallone is a warrior. It seems to be a very masculine type but there are just as many women as men who are warriors. A female warrior isn't a wallflower and doesn't run away from sex or any kind of challenge.

A scholar is interested in everything. A scholar doesn't just want to know about their own type. They want to know all about all the types. There doesn't need to be a reason to know. There doesn't have to be anything practical to gain. Scholars just want to know, that's all. Knowledge for its own sake.

The word sage is misleading. It seems to mean someone very wise, but that's not it. A sage is a spreader of information. Sages speak entertainingly and with enthusiasm. They convey ideas. Chris Rock, Bob Hope, Howard Stern, Robin Williams. Tons of actors and singers. Most actors and singers are either artisans or sages. I see a connection between sages and Type 7 in the enneagram system, though it isn't a 100% correlation. Make the world think and laugh. I'm not a sage.

A priest isn't necessarily a religious person but it is someone who always sees the world simultaneously as the way things are and as the way things should be. An instant comparison is always made. Priests think in terms of right and wrong, and are extremely judgmental. It's not that they stand up for their people like warriors. They stand up for their beliefs, for their conception of right and wrong.

A king has a very strong presence that makes others pay attention. A king takes the leadership role. The king delegates. The king notices dog shit on the lawn, doesn't clean it up, just delegates. You there, clean that up. A king commands respect. Some of the strongest, bossiest characters are kings. Katharine Hepburn was one. You stand up straight and tall when she talks to you. I'm not a king.

So have you found yourself in here yet? We're told that reincarnation is real, our astrology signs and our physical bodies change after every life but the role in life doesn't change from your last life to your next. If you are an artisan in your present life you were one last time and you will be one next time; it's an essential part of you that remains from one life to the next.

interesting stuff...i've missed reading your posts like this cuz it's fascinating shit. but where does this particular info come from? i'd have to say that given your descriptions here, i'm probably a warrior most often, and an artisan second.

cool info. i'm just curious the source. is this from a book or from your own mind?

I am a warrior for sure.
But with a good mix of artisan, priest, sage and scholar....

Basically, my soul is a rainbow....lol...

Found myself....in the description at least.  A scholar.  I scarf up information and want to know all about everything.  Too bad I don't apply my knowledge for better gain and just continue to be a full barrell with no spout, but I love learning everything I can.  I watch the history channel and any other channel with educational value.  I read as if books were going to disappear.  I listen and question everything.

And still I'm just basically hanging around.........

Interesting - definitely a scholar, although I slip into slave from time to time

I found a little of me in everything. Guess I'm just mixed up.

It's originally from a book called Messages From Michael by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. Chelsea and her friends were sitting around a ouija board at a party one night, and this stuff came up. Next I'll do her 7 body types. Her magic spirits think in sevens. I usually think that this sort of stuff is a complete hoax, like Beatrice Eadie, Sylvia Browne, and Esther Hicks. But I like Chelsea's stuff a lot, and I got some very accurate info from another author named Shepherd Hoodwin who also "communicates" with "Michael".

Hey lfb!! I missed seeing these posts when you were gone! Interesting post this one.. I think I'm a mix of scholar sage warrior and king.. because I love gethering knowledge, I love a mike and a stage, I definitely like a challange and I can be very bossy! lol.. they all fit parts of my personality.. cant pick one though.
  • hotaka said on Jun 09, 2009....
I'd have to say that the artisan, sage, scholar and warrior roles all quite suit me in the order I listed them. I can be a servant but not to the point where I'll be taken advantage of. In fact, I prefer to decide when and what I will do for others. Sometimes being asked something can be a bother. Interesting piece for self-reflection.

hmm..tricky..I go with the theory it all depends where I am..who I'm with and what I'm doing that defines me...I would possibly say predominantly warrior or priest..with a little bit of scholer..sage and slave...but even somedays I recon I possess a little bit of king..I am a natural born leader..but I am never shy of mucking in with the rest..sorry..bit of a mixed bag here!
  • Twylarants said on Jun 09, 2009....
Warrior, sage, scholar..in that order, although I walk bent over like Edith Bunker lately..lol.
Good to see you back, Mr7.

  • superbozo said on Jun 09, 2009....
I think I'm predominantly a warrior type. Who as he gets older is becoming more scholarly with it.
  • lfbno7 said on Jun 09, 2009....
Hi all. There is a website called michaelteachings.com where you can go to learn about the system for free. There is also a website called summerjoy.com where you can, for a fee, have perhaps the premier professional in this field, Shepherd Hoodwin, channel his sources and tell you which of these roles you are, and a host of other things that are described in the two websites. All I can say is that he impressed me, knowing things I don't see how he could have known.
  • fragglesrock said on Jun 09, 2009....

depends what we're talking about here...my personality shifts in diff. situations, like dealing with conflict etc...but mostly i would say that i'm servant/artisan. this is pretty interesting, i love reading this kind of thing.  i recently took a profile assesment test at work and the results were astounding! i couldn't believe how accurate!

  • UnicornForm said on Jun 09, 2009....
Artisian, than its half and half scholar/warrior. Like the post. Yet i dont think souls can be classified into such small categories, well not all souls at least.
  • lfbno7 said on Jun 09, 2009....
Good point Uni. Souls can't be classified into such small categories. Exactly right. This system is a lot more complicated, and goes into other areas. Don't get the idea that I'm an unqualified fan of it either. But I do like it. That website michaelteachings.com gives you an idea of just how involved it is.

I guess the bigger issue for me is whether it is actually possible that people like Chelsea and Shepherd can actually be getting information from sources that seem magical to us. Beats me. I wouldn't mention it at all except that Shepherd did impress me a lot with his chart of me, saying things he couldn't have known. Could he actually have had communication with a non corporeal spirit, about me? That's the most farfetched thing about it, but maybe he really did. It's too easy to just dismiss the impossible. Maybe the impossible is possible.
  • UnicornForm said on Jun 09, 2009....
you know you are right to! the impossible is possible, thats a paradox! Theres this thing i had thought a month or two ago and it works really well. Ive realizeed that everythingg is a paradox. and when i have a problem i turn it into a paradox and get the answer. only problem is stickking to the answer. Example, is lately ive been betrayed by "best freinds" so to my o.g. b.f(that has not yet done notthing) i told her shes now my enemy. (this may get confusing but) she asks why? i say because if you ever happen to betray me i wont care because your my enemy, and in return my enemies are my best freinds, so in the end i figured i should just treat everyybody with the samee kindness/ tough love and not let other people control my true personality. do you get it? But this concept helped me out SO much
  • lfbno7 said on Jun 10, 2009....
I wish we could read minds. Then it would be impossible to surprise us with a betrayal, cause we'd already know.
  • hotaka said on Jun 10, 2009....
I wouldn't want my mind read. Though it is basically innocent personal entertainment that goes on in there I think I would regularly be slapped and probably arrested on numerous occasions.
  • diabolicdame said on Jun 10, 2009....
LOL hotaka.. hehehe.. yeah i wudnt want my mind read either.. would make my poker face totally futile!!
  • lfbno7 said on Jun 10, 2009....
hotaka, i am able to read minds and i see you are fantasizing about tying up diabolic dame and whipping her with an al dente pasta.
  • hotaka said on Jun 10, 2009....
    NO! How did you...? Hmm...
And what do you know about my thoughts concerning gingersoul? But I had better not ask.
  • lfbno7 said on Jun 11, 2009....
You wish to tie up Ginger Soul and whip her with al dente pasta. I see a pattern emerging.
  • hotaka said on Jun 11, 2009....
Hmm... Am I that transparent? I'll need to think of some new foods. How about tying up gingersoul naked to a tree and throwing blueberry pancakes at her? Doh! You were supposed to read that in my mind, not in the comment box!
