Hey. It's been a long time. I was just looking at one of the MMA sites on the web, seeing about the results of tonight's pay per view card which I didn't buy, and I saw one of my recent predictions come true about Andrei Arlovski getting his head handed to him by relative newcomer Brett Rogers, and I decided to post, here, something I put on Myspace not long ago.

I figured Bloc might like to see it. I have this thing about Andrei Arlovski being overrated, and I noticed that he just got knocked out in 22 seconds by Brett Grim Rogers. I always liked sharing my enthusiasm for my sport, MMA. I used to teach karate and jiu jitsu.

Heavyweights.

1. Fedor Emelianenko. First round knockouts over top 10 contenders Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia cement his claim to the world championship. He has never really been beaten in MMA. The one loss on his record was a cut caused by an illegal blow, and he avenged that. He's like Rocky Marciano, undefeated champion of MMA riding an amazing win streak that includes a lot of knockouts.

2. Brock Lesnar. UFC heavyweight champion. A KO win over Randy Couture gave him the UFC title, though he didn't really deserve the shot. Minotauro Nogueira definitely should have been given the shot at Couture since Minotauro was the interim champion, and even Frank Mir should have been higher in line than Lesnar for the shot. The reason I rate Lesnar number 2 in the world is because he is so damn big and powerful. In his loss to Mir he was beating the piss out of Mir until he got caught in a leg lock, and he has trained a lot in Gracie jiu jitsu since getting caught in that leg lock, so he's got to be a lot better than he was when he fought Mir.

3. Frank Mir. I think it's foolish that organizations rank Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski over Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar. Who in the top 10 did Barnett and Arlovski beat recently? I can't think of anyone. Meanwhile, Mir has wins over Lesnar, Nogueira and Sylvia. That means something. I rank Mir below the man he beat, Lesnar, because Lesnar was beating the piss out of him until Mir caught him in that leg lock that Lesnar is probably able to stay away from now. If Mir wasn't getting beat up by Lesnar I'd rate him number 2 now.

4. Between Randy Couture, Minotauro Nogueira, Josh Barnett, Alistair Overeem, Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, Shane Carwin, Bobby Lashley, and maybe a few other guys, I really don't know who deserves to be ranked number 4.

Light heavyweights

1. Lyoto Machida. It's nice to have an undefeated guy on top. Machida keeps his distance, then closes the distance and karates your ass. His victims include Rashad Evans, B.J. Penn, Rich Franklin, Tito Ortiz, Stephan Bonnar, Terry Sokoudjou, and one of the many Thiagos in MMA, which one I really don't remember because I have a mental block against remembering the last names of guys whose first name is Thiago. Just another fuckin Thiago, what's the difference which one.

2. I honestly can't say. There are so many to consider and you can't make a definitive argument for or against any of them. There's Rashad Evans, Rampage Jackson, Shogun Rua, Chuck Liddell (yes, still), Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Renato Sobral, Keith Jardine the Dean of Mean, Wanderlei Silva, Anderson Silva, Luis Cane, Jon Jones, Matt Hamill, and others. How do you pick? I donno.
Middleweights

1. Anderson Spider Silva. He beat Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin, so he's the champ. The other guys he beat, no big deal, don't know why he's been fighting a lower class of opposition lately and not even disposing of them convincingly. Seems like a nice, smart, humble, talented guy.

2. Gegard Mousasi. On a great winning streak, maybe should be considered number 1 at this point because his calibre of competition has been better than Spider's recently and his wins have been more impressive. His last two were over Jacare (Ronaldo Souza) and Melvin Manhoef. If Spider Silva had to fight Mousasi, Jacare and Manhoef, I really doubt he'd beat all three. One would get him, don't know which. I'd make Jacare and Manhoef the favorite to beat the last two guys that Spider beat - Patrick Cote and an honorary Thiago named Thales something.

3. Demian Maia. Great groundfighter, Gracie jiu jitsu star, doesn't even condescend to punch or kick very often, very much like what Royce Gracie used to be. Reminds me so much of Royce Gracie in his prime. In fact, just think of him as a young Royce Gracie.

4. Dan Henderson. Just how far past his prime is this former superstar? That's the only question, because in his prime he's number 1 in this division.

5. Between Nate The Great Marquardt, Frank Twinkletoes Trigg, Cung Le, Robbie Lawlor, Paolo Filho, Vitor Belfort, Jacare, and who knows who else.

Welterweights

1. GSP. He's on top of his game these days.
2. Jon Fitch, having lost to GSP.
3. Jake Shields.
4. A big soup full of people that includes Carlos Condit, Jay Hieron, Thiago Alves, Josh Koscheck, Nick Diaz, and I suppose grandpa Matt Hughes and his buddy Matt Serra.

Lightweights

1. B.J. Penn the rubber man, who can pick his nose with his toes.
2. Mach Sakurai again? Well, he beat Aoki.
3. Shinya Aoki
4. Eddie Alvarez
5. Frankie Edgar
6. Sean Sherk
7. Kenny Florian
8. Diego Sanchez
9. JZ Calvancante
10. Joachim Hansen or Josh Thompson or Roger Huerta?

Featherweights

1. Mike Brown
2. The winner of Kid Yamamoto and the new kid Joe Warren
3. Urijah Faber
4. Wagney Fabiano

Bantamweights
1. Miguel Torres
