Song of Solomon 1:2
If nothing touched but our lips
A kiss would leave an emptiness
Inside my soul
A longing of such depth
Fathoms could not measure it
If blissful dreams are awakened to the hollow sound
Of a heart too distant to be touched yet
Pounding too loud to be ignored
Life would loose its meaning
As the contours of a valley are lost
In the early morning mists
Hidden from sight,
But not from remembrance
But our kiss is so much more
Than a junction of soft flesh. More
Than the intimate dance of lips and tongues
Joining for pleasure
Our kiss is the joining of souls.
It is the melding of two into one
Mouths meet and tongues press eagerly
Over lips, igniting passion for life
As a spark ignites kindling for a fire
The sweet taste of love intoxicating the body
And tuning the desires of the heart
So that they play a resonant harmony
To the melody of the flesh
It is the first step of a journey
Into the heart of my lover and
The last step before our two hearts rest
Together in the sweet slumber
Of fulfillment
It is the threshold of love to come
Over which the adoring groom
Carries his blushing bride
Both confident in the pleasures at hand
And their rights to share them
It is not just the mingling of tongues
It is the mingling of minds
It is the vulnerable opening of us
To each other in order to
Disclose to one another the depth of
Passion and sincerity of love with which
We see our life together
This kiss is the prize
A unique treasure at the end of the rainbow
Of daily life, that signifies
The joining of what was meant to be
Together all along
To my lover I say
"Let him kiss me
With the kisses of his mouth-
For your love is better
Than wine." S.O.S 1:2
