It’s voting day today, it is time to elect local councillors and Euro MPs. In the lead up to today I have had more bits of paper telling me why I have to vote for one party over another. The candidates have knocked on my door asking questions and telling me how good it would be if they were in power. They never received a very warm welcome, I get quite annoyed by people ringing me up or knocking on the door and trying to get me to buy something of influence me decision on a topic. Why not just send me a letter I’m going to ignore what they say either way.
I not sure who I am going to vote for. Labour has a lot of support, they have won every time since 1977. I don’t want Labour to get in again, I do not like the local council as they seem to waste money. The new Market square in Nottingham is horrible. They made it from a very light coloured stone and last time I went to watch live music in the square there was so much glare from the floor that I ended up half blind.
The conservative campaign seems to be based around if you vote for the Lib Dems then labour will get in again, and I agree with them. The liberal democrats are not strong enough to pose any real threat to the other parties. If they had a chance I would vote for them, my problem is I don’t want to vote conservative.
I just wish there was someone else to vote for (the only the BNP after that and they are a little to extreme for me). I wish there was the Monster Raving Loony party. I like some of there policies, especially the idea to build a small wall around the whole country so any invading army trips over. They can be no worse than the clowns in charge at the moment.
