............So....What are you doing here?

How much do you respect the privacy of others?

Come on, this is an anonymous soul cast. Be honest. Do you spy on others when you get the chance?

Do you feel that you have a right to know everything you can about someone? How far do you go and with whom?

Are you NEVER one to look or go where you shouldn't? Ahem. So what are you doing here? Since you DID come in for a look, I'd really appreciate it if you'd "sign in" for me at the very least.

Let's talk about privacy. Ever had yours invaded?

mOOn......geez.....my privacy is constantly invaded by my teen age daughter..
I dare anyone with kids to have their own sanctuary not intruded at least once a day....;-p
I could give you some perfect (and embarrassing) example of this statement but i rather not.

So, i guess i answered one question..

The other one.....well..... i am a curious monkey. I do want to know a lot about the people i care for. Not to the point of breaking in their homes but.....i am known to be pretty persistent in my quest for info......lol.....

You ask if i feel in my right to do so.....it depends by the situation....

I can tell you that following my ex husband around one night it was just the right thing to do ....since he had failed coming home at all the previous day...what about that?
If i found what i was looking for? Yep, even more....

So...curiosity might indeed kill the cat...but the cat has nine lives and she is still around and purring.....lol...

LOL - I'm very curious about that unexplained incident  - come on!!

Thanks for checking in, ginger. Seems like SOMEBODY is peeping in here without 'fessin' up to fallin' into my little privacy trap. Come on, peoples - if you came in here, sign in and tell all...

    i admit i'm nosy.
ging calls it curious, but secret just calls it nosy.

i have been known spy on occasion.

hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

    my own privacy?
    lol....see my username.

I sensed a trap from the beginning.  The Title itself is just begging for anyone and everyone to come in and take a look.
Anyone with kids has their privacy invaded from time to time and do I invade others ?
    With enough provocation I will.
    :^)

You know those 'curtain twitchers'?  Uh hu - not me - I'll stand and open the bloody curtains real wide to ensure I don't miss a thing lol!

I do like to know about others but not for a negative reason.  If you can get to know a little about someone, then you can do something or say something that really means something to them and that can be a big help when they need support or just plain cheering up - just simple things like their favourite music or favourite flower or hobbies.  I am a people watcher.  I love just sitting quietly and watching people, how they interact, how they dress, how they speak.  Call me weird but I love people.

I like to think I respect privacy but may have overstepped the line without realising it.  I hope people would have the intelligence to tell me though.  As for the title and intro line - well - that's just a reg rag to a bull ha ha!  It just reminded me of an episode of 'Father Ted' where Ardle O'Hanlan (the very thick priest) is standing staring at a very large red button on the aeroplane they're all on and it says on it in big letters, 'DO NOT PRESS THIS BUTTON!' ... you can see him fighting with himself getting closer and closer to the button and you just KNOW he's gonna press it lol!  Your title was my big red button ;-)
  • diabolicdame said on May 31, 2009....
Fine, you got me!! Yes I am here.. I peeked.. but you see its only natural. I'm not nosy or overly concerned about what other people are doing.. but when you tell me not to come in, I always will! Just beacuse I can.. and curiosity got the better of me.. hehehe.

Ever had my privacy invaded? Well.. all the time! Mostly though it was accidental and not done on purpose by the other person.. atleast I think so.
  • destinydiva said on May 31, 2009....
well I'm just a rebel moon!! lol..I dont like being told what to do so I came in here cus you said not too :-)

and curiosity also :-) am I nosey? do I like to know all I can find out about a person? yes! but not in a snooping kinda way..  more of a curious like to know as much as I can about a person kinda way..  why else are we all here reading others lives?? because we love to see how other people live/function/react/use their emotions...

I guess I am more of a curious observer rather than an experimenting snoop... I dont mess around with any variables, just observe the naturally occuring ones..

except for sometimes, when I am in detective diva mode...

shit, I dont know the answer to this question, :-) or maybe I just dont wanna admit that I am a snoop? :-)

ginger!! omg..  I wrote that what you wrote about cats on my status on facebook a few days ago!! great minds thinks alike..or is it fools never differ ;-)

    great post mr moon :-)

    ps  ...

i have a 'get into private meeting free' card :-)
  • gingersoul said on May 31, 2009....
Des.....LOL.....i prefer "fool, great minds think alike"......how about that?...

I never really believe when people say they are not nosy or curious...I take my being curious as a way of being aware of my position in the big scheme, as well as other people position, and not being too absorbed in myself and the things i am doing.....being open to know other people experiences is good.

But certainly i am not endorsing emotional paparazzi....;-)
Maybe we Italians are simply nosy by nature, who knows?....LOL...

Des, you and your Facebook!.....Make me curious to come and peek now....LOL...

yep.. i fell for it.  I don't like rules that don't make sense.  If there was a private issue why would it be posted in a public forum.  i looked just because i knew i could and wanted to see what would be in a public ..private discussion.

    Hi everybody. GOTHCHA!

Now come on DLS - just because something's happening in "public" doesn't mean that it isn't "private" - and I even said it was, repeatedly!!!! Thanks for your honesty.

secret - what do you do when somebody is discovered spying on YOU?

Moreover, I'm wondering what is it that you'd HATE for somebody to snoop around and discover. With Rc I'm guessing it's his secret porn stash. Rc, what's the biggest provocation you've had and with whom?

    Gracie - you won't -? Won't what? Be a bad girl?

Puss - ya, it would be mine too. Let's face it, people want what they can't have.

diaboli - you THINK it was an accident? What is it that makes you suspicious that it might not have been?

destiny - as an impartial observer, let's say that you accidentally came upon a special TV that was watching the private lives of several individuals INTIMATELY and without them knowing it at all. You can observe them at any time during any of their activities. Just for your own knowledge and understanding of human behavior. At any point would you "give" them privacy?

  • mOOn_platOOn said on May 31, 2009....

For my part, to include myself in this, I am a friggin' spy. I admit it. I will search your drawers, set up a camera, watch you through the bedroom window if it's convenient (not on the ledge of a building or hiding in the bushes) and I will watch you doing whatever it is I can see. I'll open your lost diary, I'll open the bag I find and go through it, and I will only stop or realize a boundary if it's one of my parents or children (I use the plural in case I have more). Is it a lack of ethics? Or maybe a selective application of ethics, I think, because it seems to me that knowledge is the most valuable asset in human affairs. My circle of trust is small and I honor those within it. But outside of them? I think I'm unscrupulous when it comes to gathering info, and if circumstance and time allow observation of private affairs, I tend to induldge.

Honestly, it sounded to me like someone was in distress....just came in to see if anyone needed some help...wasn't going to say anything unless intervention was required....yes, I believe that's the ticket!

[What can I say? I have a scientific, inquiring mind.]

Actually I'm pretty respectful of other people's lives and their personal space and usually they're the same with me.  The one exception that I had was with my step-daughter and her frigging attitude about privacy.   Instead of trying to be nice about it she'd flaunt it actually.
Such a big stinking deal was made about the computer and her surfing habits that I installed a spy program just to see what she was up to...(trying to keep a teenager out of porn sites on the web can be a life experience...lol)
Installing McAfee suite on the p/c solved that little problem and I even let her keep the porn movie that she had downloaded... (LOL)

Oh I've just learnt not to be too trusting of people.. so I like to be on the safe side and keep my suspicions.. once bitten, twice shy!

mr. mOOn.......i'm starting to keep a (private) eye on you.......;-p
  • secretlife said on Jun 01, 2009....
OO- i never think in terms of anyone snooping around after me-  i'm just your average woman....i can't imagine anyone finding that very interesting i guess.
i'm nosy...i'll look in your medicine cabinet, i'll check you out thru my window, i'll ask questions about you if i'm really curious-  but i won't go out of my way to spy-

i never worry about being spied on....95% of the time, i'm doing nothing that would interest you anyway.

the other 5% of the time?  now just because i look like an average woman doesn't necessarily mean i don't have secrets-  i'm just very good at keeping most of them.

Just so you guys know, this post was a bit of a prelude to the post immediately following it, which had gotten very little attention so far, but which directly addressed the larger context of what we're talking about here. You may want to look it over

dia - I wanna hear about the bite!!! WHo bit ya????

Hmmmm. There must be at least 100 folks who've clicked in here and slipped out anonymously. I guess they want even MORE privacy than an anonymous website offers.

I have to say, it kind of surprises me that in a place where people bear their souls, not many are frank about their personal stands on and experiences with privacy.

    If not here, where?

My bad. Hell, I figured since your post popped up, I'd read it, and since you did ask anyone who read it to sign in... Oh my Gawd!! I'm turning into a LEMMING!!! AAAAAHHH!!

Okay, but I SOOO did not click on this 100 times or nothing...
