i plan to start doing the following in any comments to my blog.

1. anyone who comments and neglects to close a tag: i will delete your comment, without exception. if i think you have something interesting to say, i will repost it and attribute it correctly.

2. if all i see is gibberish, i will delete your comment. if you do it more than once, i will block you first, then delete it.

3. i will aggressively label typos in tags as bad tagging. esp when the correctly-spelled tag is already present.

That sounds fair enough to me.

I've been guilty of accidentally leaving a tag open but now that there's a working edit feature (which I notice is now a horribly leery yellow colour) it's much less likely.

(2nd attempt as SC keeps crashing. ed if this comes out as a duplicate, which I hope it doesn't as did check first, just hit the delete button...)
  • sweetsoul said on Sep 07, 2006....
Not sure what you mean by 'to close a tag'. Sometimes, like this time, I see the 'tag this post' but it doesn't always come up. Not sure why that is. If the 'tag this post' doesn't come up how do you 'close a tag'?

Can you define gibberish? Not meaning to be cute...just wanting to understand your policies. Was the hijack about formating to colour and bold etc. yesterday gibberish because it wasn't on topic?
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 07, 2006....
alyss: it may not be soulcast. it may be your browser. :>

sweetsoul: by "tag" i mean the formatting commands that enable people to employ italics or boldface, etc. by gibberish, i mean things like: fasdhkljasdfa sdljkfha.

it adds nothing to the discussion. and since it's my blog, i'm the ultimate arbiter of what does/doesn't add to the discussion.

    I second the notion!

Or sixth the notion, to be precise.

Well, I spelled everything correctly, so that cannot qualify as gibberish, although it might meet the specifications for bullshit.

I think the side convos are better than the actual posts at times. Not to say anything about your posts (gee, why do I feel like I am tasting the shoe leather on this one?).

indie: but wait...you need to have the proper form filled out to get that on the agenda, but you don't have the form. you can get one by submitting a requisition form. but if you're out of requisition forms, you'll have to borrow one, because you can't get more requisition forms without submitting the request on a requisition form.

  • Indiefilm said on Sep 07, 2006....
Scalywag: our request for request of requisition form was already delivered and filled with the department of requitition requests. The processing fees have been paid along with the pre & post secondary processing fees. As well it has been approved by the proper requisition request authoritative committee for the approval of needless request forms.

In addition to that our brib... er... ah... gifts.... have been well recieved by the appropriate authorities. We fully expect for our 'motion to appear on next weeks budget meeting's agenda to appear on the agenda, so that the motion may be discussed in detail and at length, and if there is time, we are optimistic that the motion to discuss the newly formed committee's budgetary spending will be approved and that the matter will be discusseded.

silver, I try very hard to understand these rules way beyond exculpation of those diverted barriers that encompass our encumbersome indiosyncratic maxim of vitality and wallowy pirth. It would seem that we no longer satiate the penumbra of immortality's banal way of circumlocutory salutations emancipating us from trite, critchy, angsty, and intolerable insinuations. Here in SC, it is apparently imperturbable that panaceas can burrow into innuendos and quixotic tattle, given the testatrix's as well as this generation's phantomy spectre of pith that quasi-cringe those reformed plesionsaur apparently in ironclad behind those thresholds of carnal shambles.
