Visit virtual Donsol, Boracay and Mayon

Dreaming and working hard for a well-earned vacation is what makes the routine of office life in the big city bearable. Now, workers of the world can unite in fantasizing about a dream vacation on our very own shores.

MTV Relations, MTV Networks International’s latest campaign, has set up an island on Second Life, the popular 3D virtual world, to engage and encourage hip, young travelers to visit the Philippines. This campaign was recently launched to the public on May 8.

Visitors may utilize the virtual island to view and explore a multitude of destinations. On the island, visitors can dive virtually with whale white sharks at the mouth of Donsol River, Sorsogon; go windsurfing on a beach modeled after the famous white sands of Boracay; fly above the majestic 1,268 Chocolate Hills of Bohol; and visit Mount Mayon, the Philippines’ most active volcano with 48 eruptions to date.

Complementing this online campaign on Second Life will be the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) television commercial, uniquely produced in animation style. Viewers can expect to see this on MTV channel in June.
