The page you were looking for no longer exists

For a long time, you could view the SoulCast Home pages and maybe around
page 4 or 5 the weird posts would begin. You know what I am talking about.
The posts you never even open because the titles are so weird and they
are by Xlt2437 or some other weird ID.

Granted, some of those posts out there in never never land are newbys on
their maiden voyage. We all start there.

Those "weird" pages of posts are creeping up to the second and third pages
of the Home pages. And the posts on the first page routinely get under a
hundred views. Over time, some posts still get a lot of views, but that is
probably because the same users are in the given post over and over to
comment. If a post gets 100 comments, it has to have at least 100 views.

I have read some comments about people congregating at other blog sites,
but I am really not interested in that. I have another website that I post
to, but I get no views or comments there. I am not sure anything is going
on there and I have not posted there in a couple of months. I just keep it
around to use as a writing example in case I get some interest on a job
application. I also have that blog because they still allow AdSense. I have
made a whopping $3.66 in the almost three years I have had an AdSense
account. I am beginning to think some of those claims about AdSense are
BULLSHIT.

Anyway, I think SoulCast may be dying, but I have thought that before. It
would be interesting to know how many of the SoulCast bloggers (IDs) are
still active.

If you are still active on SoulCast, sign in please.

I'm still here, but I don't think I"m necessarily an "oldie".  I love when some of them do come back and I can either reaquaint with them, or just plainly meet them.  As members, maybe we need to try to do something to encourage more lively hood for the site.  Something to think about anyway, as I think we've got quite a few creative minds here.

I'm still here ish.  I hate that there is no end in sight to the stupid walls of posts by the xxxbombers that just fill it up with World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Buy land in India.  An ignore feature of some sort would improve this sight 100%.  So would a feature that if two blogs have the same title and are posted within say three hours of each other it raises a flag of somewort.  Sheesh.

Adsense was always a mislead, that's just the way that is.

I'm new, does that count?  And I have weird posts, but they are for school.  I noticed the thing about WoW (mostly because my husband plays), and other crap that looks like my junkmail inbox.

I figure some people are now just checking in occasionally, so they will never
see this even though they may be somewhat "alive". I have been checking
in more lately, but I was missing days for a while.

I have been here since the summer of 2006. My posts do not reflect that
because I was going to leave at one time (The I Am Outta Here Phase),
and I deleted all my posts.

I am glad you are still here, ALIEN :)

Well I am here today. But in the last few months I have been more away than home. Life is just busier. I now have a wife and son to go home to. I can't linger after work on the computer until 1 AM like I used to go.

Did you ever see any of those posts about how to find the secret gold sword of Naradeth and use it to kill the Gongadung and steal his powerful boobadoo so you can get a Gizerwamode and trade it for a sistacomma sword? Those on-line games sound so exciting.
  • diabolicdame said on May 27, 2009....

  • Zayda said on May 27, 2009....
I'm here, off and on. I have little bursts of comments and posts interspersed with long periods of inactivity. I've been occupied by other things like the new house we bought, working on a grant project, and writing, among other things.
  • ALIENated said on May 27, 2009....

No, Hotaka, I never read any of those kinds of posts. If the title sounds weird,
I do not even open them. If I do open them, I click out at the first sign of
stupidity. My time is limited (I should be looking for a job), so something has
to be pretty interesting for me to do anything more than quickly scan over it.

I am not really sure why I keep coming back here. As I said, I think other sites
are too complicated in comparison. I love the anonymous nature of SoulCast.
You can really dump your thoughts here without any backlash from the thought
police in the real world. In this day and age, honesty about issues is refreshing,
to be honest and to hear honesty, what people really think, not just what they
are supposed to think. In the real world, all you hear these days are sound bytes.
Everyone sounds like a recording of politically correct mumbo jumbo. You can
bet if someone is not saying much, they are just biting their tongue because
they think all the politically correct mumbo jumbo is bull crap, as I do. At work,
there are people on their soap boxes all day ... if they are spouting the party
line. It is sometimes hard not to throw a stapler at them. It is also hard not to
puke while you are being subjected to it. Here, you can counter all the bull crap
of the day without being shouted down by a band of homos and homo lovers.
Well, if you block them, that is. Too bad you cannot block people in the real
    world, liberals, that is.

Hello picker and fearing. I hope not also. I like things simple, and SoulCast is
simple. Other blog sites are just not like SoulCast, and I do not think they
are about what SoulCast is about.

  • hotaka said on May 27, 2009....
Hmm... That would be an interesting addition to your life - the ability to block people you don't like. Maybe in virtual reality we'll be able to. Imagine a virtual meeting where 10 people are there but in your meeting space there are only 8 because you have blocked two of them out.

I just want a remote control, like the tv remote, so I can mute people I don't want to listen to.
  • ALIENated said on May 28, 2009....

Men already have that ability. Sometimes all I hear is wack a wack a wonk a
wonk a wub a wub a wub, especially in those meetings.

The gift of being highly distracted has served me well in that respect.
I love to imagine bloviaters in different scenarios.  for example, just put Barbara Streisand in one of those Burger King get ups and place her behind the counter....voila!
  • ALIENated said on May 28, 2009....

Ha ha ha. Barbara Streisand. She used to be so cute and such a good singer
before she became a boring, bloated, liberal goofball. Same for Shirley
McClaine. She was so cute in Irma La Deuce. Then the evil spirits
    got her. Yikes.

  • javadewd said on May 28, 2009....
They have AdSense? I put my stuff in, but nothing happened. I thought it was a design flaw...
  • ALIENated said on May 29, 2009....

AdSense worked for a while, but I think Google rejected it here and turned it
off. About $3 was added to my account before it stopped working. I think
all the raw honesty here (Google is probably run by homo lovers) got to them.
And, people were encouraging others to click on their ads. This place really
does not offer the kind of environment that a site like eHow.com, Youtube,
or Flickr offers. There is no real service or information here, just a lot of
personal opinions. Plus, Google does not like adult material, supposedly. Try
scanning for something with Google and turn the filter off. Yikes. You will
see just about anything you can think of. They demanded (according to
SouCast admin) that everyone tag adult posts with ADULT or SEX, I think
it was, but that was obviously not enough. I figure it was all the politically
incorrect posts that did it. Google may not be run by homos, but it is most
likely managed by a bunch of ponytail-sporting, ex-hippie, liberal Democrats
who cannot stand any competition for their propaganda.

  • ALIENated said on May 29, 2009....

@Cussane: no need to fact check all that last comment about who runs
Google. I did what Rush does a lot -- stated my personal opinion partially
for the sake of humor and partially because I think most of it is probably true.

  • javadewd said on May 29, 2009....
Have you checked the iGoogle news lately? Fucking retarded how liberal it is. Well, shit. I may as well go back to having my own website again then... At least there I got better searchability. I can't do a google search on my handle and find shit. It's pathetic!
  • ALIENated said on May 31, 2009....

Try including SOULCAST and JAVADEWD in your search. I just did a search
for those two on Yahoo and got many hits.

  • javadewd said on Jun 01, 2009....
I got two. When I had my own stuff, I could get tagged by the content on the post. You search "hateful bastard" or something and it would show whatever posts said "hateful bastard" in them. SC, not so much...

Still seriously considering moving my shit out of SC... Had a friend ask me if I was writing a book. I donno, it just seems like a dying fad now. Am I wrong?

I'd rather go back to linking to people I actually gave two shits about with the off-chance I might get paid rather than dealing with smug liberals around here.
  • ALIENated said on Sep 14, 2009....

I am not sure I follow. Whose blog is that (your "friend" link)? And how do you make money by linking to people? I need to make some money fast. Over eight months of unemployment is taking its toll.

  • javadewd said on Sep 15, 2009....
Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt -- circa 2002!

That blog belongs to Jen Lancaster. She was once a conservative elite in Chicago. At some point, she became unenjoyed (I don't want to spoil the books for you, they're very fun) and blogged for quite a while. Then, she wrote a book about them... Then another... And another. Now she's on social networks, touring the mid west and otherwise making a big splash. I used to write some pretty heavy-hitting shit during the Bush years, but after a while my anonymity became compromised (I guess it was the phrases I used) and a few toes got stepped on. I stopped blogging for a while, then I got married. I needed a place to vent.

How do you make money with a blog? Ads! Google will gladly pay you to advertise for them, but SoulCast is practically black-listed. If you want to make any money personally, you have to have your own website. Hit me up, I'll be happy to tell you where to get one with worldwide triple redundancy for less than $65/yr. You'd have to build it yourself, though, but I build shit all the time.
  • ALIENated said on Sep 15, 2009....

Yes, AdSense no longer works here. I have an AdSense account and another blog that I have neglected to develop very much. I am thinking about ditching it and starting over. The topic of that blog causes ads to be displayed that I cannot imagine anyone clicking. Most of the ads look like scams even to me. I would never click on them. I like it here because of the anonymous factor as well. I work very hard not to identify who I am. Not even the guards suspect anything yet. (Just kidding about the guards. I am only observed by the people back home via the Crystal Matrix, but that is a long story.)
