One thing that just boggles my mind is the idea of possession.  Well, sometimes known as possession.  Some call it coming down of the holy spirit, others hear God talking to them.  Some are fully taken over.  I think of the idea of the Haitian possession (or similarly, Santaria), and I wonder if this is the real deal or if these people just want to believe so badly that they think they are possessed.  Same with those who claim to speak in tongues (glossolalia).  Are they really speaking the language of the holy spirit or do they just believe they  are?  In both cases, there have been proven instances where someone was faking.  Since it is nearly impossible to prove that they have in fact occurred, we can only assume, and I am interested in other people's takes on this.  I will warn you, I will play devil's advocate with you.  I will disagree with you sometimes, even if I actually agree.  If you would like to read something (somewhat) related, NPR had a five-part series loosely related to this last week (www.npr.org).
