Dear Kat,

 

There is something you can do for me.

 

For a very long time now I have been hard at work trying to let people know  just how much we need beauty in this world.

 

The beauty of song,and poetry,and painting.

 

It seems that the world just keeps on trying to blow itself to hell thru greed and violence.

 

There is only so much one old man can do.

 

But, will you do this one thing for me.

 

When sometimes I cease my endless fussing,and try to fall asleep upon my cot.

 

I wonder if anybody ever gives a damn about the musing of one lonely soul.

 

The fight has been long, and soon the time of midight shall overtake me.

 

I have no fear of going into the dark night,for I know that I am destined to be drawn into the beautiful light.

 

But what about the children....how will they know what to say and what t do?

 

I depend upon loved ones like you.

 

You who have fought with me...yes and cried for me.

 

Please tell them what I tried to do...what I tried so hard to make them see.

 

Maybe the world will never know,or ever remember what we do here this day,but I know that you know.

 

And that means more to me than I can ever say.
