seems the world's a busy place except for way out here...last week I peeled and canned 10 quarts of peaches. I read cook books for fun. I chop wood, walk in the woods with the dogs and sometimes, the cats tag along. I pick up leaves or ferns to draw and paint pictures of when I get home. Days are getting quiter now with the kids back into school. The trees are just beginning to turn and the ragweed is in full bloom. We got some rain which makes me glad that I weather treated the deck last week. Its real quiet out here right now. I can hear the crows out in the trees and an airplane somewhere far off. No highways full of gas guzzling smog belchers. No neighbors hemmin in on all sides. Just a family of deer that like to stand in my driveway and a flock of turkeys that get chased daily by the dogs. I am trying to make a rag rug for my son's room out of pieces left over from his baby blanket. Yesterday I sewed his paint smock for school with his initials in the corner. Life is not busy out here but I find enough to do. Slow but never boring.
