  ahhhh.  I just started enjoying the program 2 seasons ago.  Last night's show was dynomite...but that final result, wow, I kind of predicted it because of the homosexuality factor, but after last nights singing it left no doubt who really, really deserved it based on rock star image and vocal ability.  His last song was We are the Champions with Queen...Queen is a gay band, so they were obviously making a point.  Gad, even idol is so political !
   
  I feel for the guy, tho, he looks like Elvis, has the voice of a better rock star than I ever heard before, he's got it all.  'cept he likes boys.  Sigh (all the dreams out the window so that's why I get the vote count).

  i have a whole post i've been keeping about Adam Lambert here--- it's got some good links to other blogs that will make you laugh and give you insight on the buzz around him.
   
  i think on some level you're right, although it's funny because there have been other gay american idols.  maybe they didn't come out of the closet til after they won, but you didn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.  the thing about adam lambert, and i don't know his sexuality...gay or bi or what, but he is not ashamed of who he is- makes no excuses.....and i think that's a scary thing for America - even in 2009.
   
  if american idol really was about finding an idol, as a viewer of all 9 seasons, i'd tell you that they blew it.  they finally did get an idol only they didn't crown him the winner.
   
  Now---if AI franchise changed the rules, and allowed only 1 call from each phone number, there might have been different results.
   
  And Sir has a good point really---he won just by being so visible and so good.  He doesn't have to make a ton of appearances for publicity and can actually make music and hopefully money.

  java, and never mind all of the gay film stars...omg!  What would people say if the guy or gal they were drooling over was...*cough* gay!  Seems to me Rock Hudson was one of the first to get outted when he contracted HIV/Aids...

  Adam didn't lose because he's gay, he lost because of the way he presented himself.....yes he clearly was the best entertainer of the two overall, but to be fair, I think Chris had a better night than Adam did in the finals.
  
  This is a popularity contest....all of the contestants play by the same rules.....so it was fair.

  correct answer. Even if you are right, so what? How is one thing fair
  and the other not? Do you even know the disgusting things homos do?
  And I really wonder if some people are not just acting like a homo
  because they realize how stupid people are these days. You are more
  likely to win if you act like a homo than to lose. If you said someone
  won because they were perceived to be a homo, that I would believe.
