I HAD DOUBTS THAT I WAS GETTING DIABETES SINCE AUGUST 2008.I AM IN A DENIAL MODE EVER SINCE,NOW THAT I AM A CONFIRMED DIABETIC I SPENT HOURS THINKING ABOUT WAYS I COULD HAVE AVOIDED BEING DIABETIC.
I AM A SELF CONFESSED FOODIE .THANKS TO MY MUM I THINK I HAVE INHERITED HER COOKING ABILITIES.SHE IS FAMOUS FOR HER VEGAN DISHES. ME I HAVE TRIED A LOT OF CUISINES BE IT INDIAN CHINESE ENGLISH FRENCH AND ITALIAN.OF ALL THE CUISINES MY FAVORITE BEING ITALIAN THE PASTAS SAUCES JUST TYPING MAKES WANT SOME LASAGNE. MY FRIEND BOUGHT A GLUCOMETER SINCE HE WAS A DIABETIC .WE CHECKED OUR BLOOD SAMPLES HE HAD A READING OF 230 MY WAS 429 THE NORMAL LEVELS BEING 70 - 110. I WAS SHOCKED TO SAY THE LEAST AND WONDERED HOW WAS I TO LIVE THE REST OF MY LIFE.
DENIAL MODE - I HAD GONE FOR A HOLIDAY WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED I HAD DIABETES MELLITUS THATS THE NAME GIVEN . THE DOCTOR HE TOLD ME TOLD ME THREE THINGS I HAD TO FOLLOW IF I WERE TO AVOID FURTHER COMPLICATIONS IN FUTURE
1. HE ASKED ME HOW MANY CIGARETTES DO I SMOKE.HE KEPT ADDING IN MULTIPLES OF 5 WHEN IT REACHED 40 HE WAS SHOCKED. STOP SMOKING HE SAID
2.HE THEN TOLD ME TO START WALKING
3. FOLLOW A DIET THEN IT WAS A VISIT TO THE DIETITION .I REALLY HAD TO KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE ELSE SHE WOULD HAVE KICKED ME OUT. THE SUGGESTTIONS TO ME WAS HILARIOUS BECAUSE OF THE QUANTITY SPECIFIED.

2. STARCH
3. FRIED STUFF
4.SUGAR CANT IMAGINE A LIFE WITHOUT FRIES STEAKS CHEESE SOFT DRINKS .
AND THE SMOKES.......
