Well, hubby spoke to his lawyers the other day..the insurance company made another settlement offer. Last time it was $50,000.00 and he'd have to stop all medical treatment. We said no. This time they offered $55,000.00  and he'd still have to stop medical treatment. HELLO EXCUSE me brains...um..this fellow can't walk very much. So we said no to that. Hubbys doc said more than likely he'll need back surgery to put pins/rods into his back and he'd spend a couple of months in rehab 'learning to walk again' as my hubby put it.  I don't care..I just want my car..LOL. Seriously, I do want him to get better so he can be a productive member of our family again.  His left leg..the whole leg goes numb..or the way he says when your leg, arm falls asleep and then it wakes up..you know that electric..painful feeling you get when it does..like that.  He really needs to get better. He's focusing now on going back to school to learn either radiology or phleblotomist (did i spell that correctly LOL). He still wants to do something in the medical field.  I keep telling him he's not going to be like this forever...just for right now. When the lawyers offer over $100k,, maybe we'll take it. At least that way, I will get my car, my license reinstated, he gets his car, he'll be able to pay for his treatment on his own..(which I don't think he should) and everything will be sort of back to normal.

Oh wow, I can't believe they made that stupid offer.  I hope this works out in your favor and they reimburse you for much more than what they're offering currently.  Further, I hope they do it sooner rather than later so your husband can get back up to 100% health again and you all can get some sort of normalcy.

Me too. He received a call from his other lawyer because I forgot he had what he calls a civil lawsuit going against his former employer for firing him while he was on medical leave WITH a docs note. I don't know what this means, but his lawyer faxed him some paperwork, had hubby sign it and fax it back to the lawyer..maybe this means my car will be coming soon? LOl..listen to me..I just want my car so I don't have to be dependent (a.k.a at the mercy) of other people. Holding my breath til I know what those papers are/were.

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed that those papers mean you're getting your car back!   I know it truly sucks to have to depend on others for things like that.

Nope, according to Hubby the papers were just a formality. Bah! Thank you Hege...I'm sure sooner or later SOMETHING will give. LOL.
