A terrible fight is always going on inside me, and perhaps inside everyone else. It’s a fight between two wolves – one is evil and represents arrogance, hate, anger, intolerance, and superiority. The other is good and represents humility, kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Which of the two wolves will eventually win? It depends on us.

Definitely, the wolf that I am feeding will win this terrible fight.

IMX, we know which we want to win. and we have the power to create situations that will affect the outcome, create favorite or unfavorable situations for either.

labyrinth, you're clearly struggling w/ a decision. if you want to talk about it, that's cool. if you don't, that's also OK.

I'm betting on the good wolf (always had). Fact is, I'm feeding him more and more to ensure his victory. Go! Go! Go!

I've trained both my wolves to be good dogs. But sometimes one of them growls at strangers and wants to bit their ankles when the strangers in question are being jerks. One day, I might just let him out of the yard...

I can see the bad wolf. That part of the analogy works,
but a good wolf? Not sure about that. Anyway, I get the
point. However, to me, the evil/bad in us is more like a
big spring. We can push it down and push it down, but
one slip and it spoings back up bigger than ever. And it
will until our nature changes. That nature we are born
with has to be replaced. We have to be reborn.

I tend to feed the wolf in sheep's clothing (wait, maybe that doesn't quite work because that implies deceit). Okay, I tend to feed the gentler (lamb) of the two. But the other is becoming ravenous. How long before he lunges to snap viciously at life?

Hey I don't see the full moon yet. Hope it turns out to be the great good wolf. We are as we think we are, so if we allow our evil side to dominate us, it will ruin us to destruction. Nobody wants to take care of a ferocious savage wolf. Let the good in you conquer, dominate and eradicate all evil within you.

This is a struggle as old as time. I choose to be good mostly. Lord knows, I do have my struggles though.

    Dear Labyrinth,

It's indeed a fight between wolf and lamb ,I should say.

Slowly supress the wolf and through continued repitition of
good traits you mentioned above ,encourage the lamb within
other wise the wolf will eat the lamb and you also ultimately.

hotaka = I hope you will never have to let the bad wolf off your yard, specially when I'm nearby. LOL!

To all = Taming the bad wolf is, I believe, both a challenge and a calling. I am convinced that all of us are born to be good and to suppress the little devil inside. "Through the continued repitition of good traits," it will become more and more easy to domesticate and even convert the bad wolf.

By the way, the wolves and I ate the lamb for dinner last night.

    Lamb souvlaki. Mmm...
