I.. and possible others.. spend a lot of time lost in a time warp.

Too many minutes and hours spent dwelling on the past.. lost in thought.. reflecting.. regretting.. appreciating.. reliving. Most of it can have no effect.. positive or negetive.. on my life now but still.. sometimes I'm lost in a day in my past. Living memories that are long gone.. have no place in my today.

Even more are the hours and days I spend thinking about the future.. what is to be.. what I want it to be. Planning.. analyzing.. hoping.. trying. Chances are, it wont pan out the way I think no matter how many times I think it.. but I have faith that it'll be for the best.. and yet I spend so much time.. living in the future. It almost starts to feel like I'm living life in 'wait mode'.. waiting to reach the future I keep dreaming of.

Today as I left home at 7:30 in the morning though.. I looked at the clear blue sky and felt like I had stepped into a truly wonderful 'today'. Why not spend a little time here in this day while I'm here anyway?!

So I start my day today deciding to keep eyes, ears, heart and mind open.. and soak in as much of this day as I can.

Hello world!

:-)

    I love your energy, ddlicious!

I was going to leave the one line comment as is, but your words transported me to a time I spent living in the future more than in the moment...

As I have told you countless times you remind me of my friendships in college.  The best years in my life.  The dark spot on these best years, I was much in a hurry in my head to attain my goals to have a life in Europe, that I feel I lost some precious moments, I should have savoured with the people that gave me so much positive thoughts, and energy to achieve my goals.  (Just came to me by BFF use to call me Hyper-Jo!LOL)

Welcome to today, dia, isn“t it grand!?! :)

    :)

Awww, what a good post!  Happy to see you made it to today!  Lol.  Sometimes I think people can be such time travelers, living for the future and trying to be IN the future, ignoring the present and dwelling on the past.  The present often gets forgotten and it's usually quite an interesting awakening when it's noticed again.  I hope you get the most out of it!  Sometimes the present can be sort of like a vacation spot in time ... take a break from being in the future all the time and relax.  :-)

nice blog!  Yes, I spend too much time planning my future.  I should take the time to enjoy the here and now.

Dear Jo.. they call me hyper-dia too!! lol.. I can a wee bit too.. err.. energetic at times.. hahahahaha.. thanks for your sweet words as always.. and yes, I realised I'm thinking so much about my goals and how to reach them that I'm completely missing out on the right now!! It is indeed a grand day!  :-)

Hiya hege!! Taking a break from the future.. I know what you mean..and I needed this break! lol.. for the past many months.. years even.. I've been consumed by planning /arranging/ praying for the future.. lol.. thinking only about right now is rather freeing!  :-)

moonie, noooooooo.. lol.. hahahahaha.. you know what the worst part is? As soon as I saw the first line my brain instantly started going through it all looking for bugs/logical-syntactical errors/visualising the output etc.. hahahahaha. no I can never be free from this C! I'm even starting to enjoy it.. yikes!!!!  :-D

Thakns uni! The here and now is so easily ignored, huh? Even though its right in our faces!  :-D

Inspiring Post Dbabe - got me thinking - maybe i should give it a try............so,besides feeling good about life - how are you?
  • pleasantskies said on May 14, 2009....
Great post. It's true. Life is happening right now, not yesterday and not tomorrow. We let those ideas rule our thoughts, while its good to reflect, its not good if that's what your daily routine is focused on. I've said that about myself, like I'm waiting to start living my life, only I never when or how to start because there is always tomorrow.
  • diabolicdame said on May 15, 2009....
Thanks MsStar! Its so easily overlooked.. but yes we all do need to take the time.. the roses smell great!  :-)

Hey cj! Yes give it a try.. you might be surprised.. I'm quite enjoying the present myself! Other than that I'm good and being worked to the bone! hehehe.. how are you, friend?

pleasantkisses, thanks! Yes life is happening right now.. what a nice way to put it! I think you should start on an impulse.. whenever it strikes you.. and not even think about the possiility of tomorrow!  :-)
