Ive got lots to do but I just wanted to share something that happened today that made me snicker on the inside and be pissed on the outside. : P
So ive got two dogs right? Lil and Kadie, Kadie is big and on a pulley system outside and lil is small and usually goes with us everywhere...just so ya know...
Alright: Phil and I decided to leave lil in the house today, we had the windows open on our screened in porch. Wheezer (male cat) was in the house too...
We just had Wheezer neutered yesterday. Phil commented when paying the bill "This is now the most expensive cat ive ever owned"...
I get a call from Jane who works at the Humane Society that is just behind our house at around 2pm. She informed me that my "big white dog and lil black one" are running loose and I need to get them bc the cops are trying to catch them. She asked if they were nice bc she thought she could get the "big white one". I told her they were both very nice and id be right over to round them up.
As I hung up with her Phil called me and told me that he just rounded up our "critters".
He got a phone call from the police.
This is what happened.....
Lil tore a Lil sized hole in the screen on the porch and bailed the 6 feet onto the ground ( I cannot believe she wanted out that badly.) Wheezer followed...Lily then went over to Kadie and un latched the clip on her collar. This is the only possible way Kadie could have gotten loose. Nothing was broken on Kadie setup. It was as though someone or some Lily came up and un clipped her from her chain...
Kadie and Lily both then took off to the neighbors yard. The neighbors are a nice Mexican family that have chickens and ducks. They let the chics and ducks run loose all over the yard.
Kadie then murdered every chicken and duck in sight. Lily was her accomplice. The mexican family then called the police to have my dogs arrested...
The police get to the house and find the poultry massacre all over the yard and arrest my neighbors for "raisint poultry within city limits"...apparently they had been cited for this before and its highly illegal in my town due to the high risk of poultry carrying lice. Its a public health hazard to let birds run free in town...
My dogs escaped having massacred 12 ducks and chickens. My neighbors got arrested...This is what made me giggle. I feel HORRIBLE about the ducks and chics but I cant help but see the humor in someone calling the police and having themselves get arrested...hehehe....
Im planning on going over and apologizing to them tonight...
When Phil arrived at the crime scen that was our neighborhood he passed by the neighbors and saw them picking up poultry carcasses...He pulled into the driveway and saw the hole in the screen...
Our other neighbor whom we hadnt met until this point. Comes out of his house to greet Phil. He says "I saw your dogs on the other side of the house"...Phil asked when, assuming they prolly werent over there anymore...Phil began to wonder around the back alley of the neighbor he was talking with and the man stopped him "NO! They are over THERE!"...
This was strange behavior...but Phil agreed and walked to the other side of our house and there was no Lil and no Kadie in sight...
Phil came back over to the neighbors place as the neighbor was just letting Lily out of his house with a great big pork chop...
Lily and Kadie both came running from the neighbors house and Lily had a pork chop the size of her head hanging from her mouth...
Weird....
The guy would have deserved a huge thank you for hiding our dogs out from the police...what was strange was why he insisted they where somewhere else before letting them out of his own home with a pork chop......
Phil thanked him and let the strange behavior go. He tied up Kadie and put lilly in his pickup...
Whooo...what an afternoon...My doggies sure did cause a ruckus.
One set of neighbors were arrested bc of them. Another set is now thought to be a little "off" with the lying and sneaking our dog out of his house with a pork chop...And the "most expensive cat phil has ever owned" lasted not even a full day...hes still missing. I hope he comes back, but...jeepers...
What fun they musta had...believe me, its not happening again! hehe...
