This is my introduction to the Soul Cast world. This blog will simply give some background info as to who I am ... good luck with trying to figure me out. And if by some chance you're able to, by all means please let me know ... because after 30 years I still haven't a clue!
I married at a very young age (15) and became pregnant soon after. When my oldest son was at the whopping age of 5 MONTHS, I became pregnant with my only daughter ... all before my 17th birthday. My husband worked 3 jobs to support us and we barely scraped by. I don't regret my decisions because they made us into the close knit family that we are today.
When my son and daughter were 8 & 7 respectively I gave birth to my youngest son. The Lord knew what he was doing when he gave our youngest son to us last. Had he been my first child he would have been an ONLY child!!! I love him to pieces but no one else can try my patience like that child.
My oldest son is now 14 and a freshman in high school this year. He's a football player and has real potential should he choose to pursue that avenue. He's in Power Lifting during the off season and keeps in shape that way. He's a big boy, almost 6 ft and weighs right at 200 lbs. He's such a terrific kid. He's in band. He's popular amongst his peers, especially the girls. He's in the Distinguished Honors program and volunteers with the Special Ed program at his school. He has a heart of goal. In fact, he's been dubbed the "Gentle Giant" by numerous teachers. He has yet to meet an enemy. He's got an upbeat nature and a great sense of humor. He always sees the good in everything. He truly is an amazing person.
My daughter is 13 and in her last year of Junior High. She plays basketball and her team won District Champs this year. She's now in track and field during the off season. She's the one all her friends turn to when they need advice or a shoulder to cry on. She's forever trying to save the world. She rescues stray animals. She's been asked to fly to DC for a week this summer by one of the administrators at school to participate in a peer mediation group summit. Her principal recommended her for the program as she's the girl everyone turns to in their hour of need. During the conference in DC she will be armed with more tools to help those in need of counseling during their transition from jr. high to high school. She's wise beyond her years. I have complete strangers stopping me at grocery stores, after school functions, ball games, restaurants, etc. just to tell me how amazing she is (as if I didn't already know) and how she's the most respectful child they've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She's got a great sense of humor and sharp wit. She's always quick with clever come backs and always stands up for herself. I am so proud of my daughter.
LOL, my baby is something else!!! He's 6 years old and way too mature for his age. I attribute this to having older teenage siblings. His sense of humor is far beyond his years. He sings Journey lyrics to his teacher at school. And he comes up with some of the funniest stories. Simply talking to this baby you would never imagine he's only 6!!! He was born premature so he has alot of bronchial medical problems but we've managed with the Lord's help to keep him out of the hospital this year! He torments his brother and sister to death, but should either of them need or want something he's the one that comes running first! He wants to be a soldier when he grows up. But he never wants to have to move away from Mommy. I know this will change soon, but I'm enjoying every minute that I can. He'll always be the baby as he's my last one. Time goes by too fast.
I am absolutely the luckiest mother on earth!
We live the American dream. We own a home in an affluent part of town. My children go to a great school. My husband is in the oil field. I "see dead people" for a living - LOL! Life is good :)
