you might be surprised at the number of people who support legalization sam. criminalizing it certainly hasn't stopped it, and just like in the 30's with prohibition, has only made the problem worse. it's also put vast amounts of cash in the pockets of the criminals who control the trade throughout the world, allowing them to organize and conduct turf wars killing innocent people, none of which would be possible if it were legalized and regulated. rather than spending billions on a 'war on drugs' and funding criminal organizations, it could be taxed and regulated just as alcohol is, generating a new source of income to the government that could rival that of the lottery. 60 years should be long enough to realize that it's not going away. so which is better, vast, powerful criminal organizations and tax funded government agencies battling it out in the city streets, or regulated distribution that earns the government money? i choose the later. -
