I wonder if God's up there looking down at us, stratching his head, trying to figure out why in the world we need this day off when we already have one day off a week (Sunday). But then, not everybody obeys the commandment to keep the Sabbath holy... We're very naughty children!!!!

Labor day is a government holiday and has nothing to do with what God wants us to do. We are in the World an God also wants us to obey the laws of the world. The next major holiday isn't until Thanksgiving, I think we deserve a break. I worked today, but only 4 hours. Enjoy it and don't worry about having the day off but rather worry about how you spend it.

It really depends on what church you go to. The Jewish Sabbath is Saturday. But in most Christian churches, it's Sunday.

The word Sabbath translates to Saturday or seventh day and our caledar goes from Sunday to Saturday so Saturday is "Sabbath". I have never heard a pastor call Sunday Sabbath, even if it is their day of worship. We have to remember that the pastor 'works' on Sunday so maybe he takes another day to reserve for God. I think the day we choose to take off for God is up to us really, especially since those who are in healthcare cannot always take a weekend off and even Jesus healed on Sabbath.
