In a foul mood today. I'd likely stomp that little Robin if I saw it today. Good thing it's scarce.
My roommates are in the habit of putting my mail wedged between the knob and door jam of my door. I get my mail when I leave my room for some reason. Last night I was tucked into bed and didn't get the mail until about 11 pm.
I wish I hadn't gotten it until morning. There was a letter from the DMV informing me that my driver's license is going to be suspended unless I'm able to take care of a couple of tickets that I thought I had already taken care of. WTF!!!
When I registered my car last fall the lady at the DMV told me that there was a ticket on my record. She said I could pay for it there that day so I did. Now it appears that since I didn't take the paid registration to the CHP office and have them sign off on it that it was sent to some sort of courts collections service. What started off as a $10 fix it ticket has matured into $554 screw me out of money because the system is so impossibly undecipherable that not even a rocket scientist could figure it out fee.
The other ticket, due at court now, is a mere $283. Easy peesy! Now, all I need to do is sell a kidney and pawn my jewelry to perhaps get a chunk of it. At least enough to keep my license.
Oh, and car registration is due too.
The logic of this makes me so mad. They revoke your license so you can't drive. You can't go to work if you can't drive. (I don't think bus service is the answer here) I can't make the money I need to pay the tickets so that I can keep my license.
I'm even madder at the turd at the DMV who didn't bother to tell me that despite paying off the ticket that I needed to go kiss some cop's ass to make sure it went away.
Don't the cops have better things to do than picking on a single mom with a tiny income? Shouldn't they be busting pimps, drug dealers and murderers? Where are their priorities?!!
