Australians, like me are all in mourning today over our beloved Crocodile Hunter "Steve Irwin".
Steve, who is famous for wrestling crocodiles, was out from the Australian coastline this afternoon filming an underwater documentary when a huge sting ray struck him in the chest with the barb on it's tail, piercing his heart, killing the Crocodile Hunter.
It's funny, but I didn't realise how much I liked the funny little Crocodile-wrestling guy until today.

I have never seen any of his shows though I knew who he was. It's sad when such a remarkable public figure dies. He went way too young. And by such an anticlimactic event.
Strangely, one thought that popped into my mind when I read about the sting ray was, "Live by the sword, die by the blade." He was always getting way too close to dangerous animals. That (and his personality) was what brought him fame but in the end it was the death of him.
My condolences to Australians everywhere.

Such nice words hotaka...and very true...he certainly lived life on the edge...and it was like he almost knew that's how he would go. Sad for his little girl who idolised him though.
