After 100 days, he gets nothing but 'incomplete' from me until I see at least a possible outcome from any mentioned. Even where I don't think he's on the right track, I can't give a grade with nothing to grade on. Ask me in one to three years.

    to soon to know

The economy -- By regurgitating the last-ditch bad ideas from the Bush administration that even the conservatives hated, I have to give him a D-plus. The "F" will come once cap-n-trade kicks in. Standing next to the same guys who put the corporate bonuses clause in place, watching it sail through, then claiming to be all angry about them, not to mention lying about knowing about them... It was a close "F"

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- I'm with BTE, I have to give him an "incomplete." His attitude is that if he doesn't talk about it, it doesn't exist. Gates is doing everything he can to make BO look like a fool and the media ignores it.

Foreign relations -- Because he has tried to show the US as a bunch of pussies, turned Hillary (of all people) loose to sell our secrets to the highest bidder, and hasn't done one thing to beef up our defenses, shore up the borders or otherwise keep us from being compromised from another terrorist attack (not to mention has hired the most incompetent people in his cabinet to handle all of his), it's a D-plus... Again the failure comes when the US has to experience another 9/11.

Domestic policies -- A total flop. Nationalizing over 20% of the US economy, pulling stimulus checks (many blacks are now getting pissed), ignoring constituents (or at least non-lobbyists), the lack of results in bipartisanship, blaming predecessors instead of taking responsibility for what is happening on his watch, rolling out progressive policies, being "unaware" of the NYC fly-by... An easy "F"

Terrorism -- Again, "incomplete." Nothing. He has done absolutely nothing except embolden our enemies. Had a conservative done this, he would have been dragged out of the white house by a lynch mob, but since the libs did this, it's all okay.

Only what... Another 1360 days to go or so? So much comedy/tragedy, so little time!
  • D6fer said on May 01, 2009....
beyond....cbl....that's a copout.....if we were talking about Bush after his 1st 100 days, I'll bet you would have had something to say.

JD......I would have to agree with you for the most part.....although I would actually give him high marks on Iraq and Afghanistan....but then again....what did he have to do?......he has changed nothing there.

Terrorism I would give him an "F" for making the decision to close Guantanamo without having a plan for the detainees......and for the whole interrogation memo thing....that was shameful.
  • crybabylu said on May 01, 2009....
I liked Bush until he went into Iraq.
  • javadewd said on May 01, 2009....
D6 -- None of that in Iraq or Afghanistan was his call. It got pushed off on Gates. Also, the "F" for terrorism comes when he puts terrorists in Leavenworth with some of the worst con artists in the country. One escapes in the midwest... Write the headline here...

CB -- So tell me honestly, you weren't one of those snickering over Bush's "delay" to respond to 9/11 because he was in the middle of a grade school class that morning and didn't want to panic everybody, right?

  • D6fer said on May 01, 2009....
CBL.....I guess you think it's ok for guys like saddam to continue killing people on a daily basis huh?
  • javadewd said on May 01, 2009....
Well, D6, if she says we should have nuked Saudi Arabia or Iran, that's fair enough... Just because the ends justified the means doesn't mean that people can't disagree, but I would be hard pressed to see anybody defend a pacifist position after 9/11.

  • kelly said on May 05, 2009....
"I guess you think it's ok for guys like saddam to continue killing people on a daily basis huh?"

It's odd, but in hindsight we now see that the Iraqis would have been better off with Saddam left in power.  There was a tiny fraction of the bloodshed, they had an economy, women were attending colleges, etc.

Before some dolt construes this as some kind of endorsement for Saddam I will point out that this is a simple, quantifiable comparison.
  • javadewd said on May 05, 2009....
Hey, I'll grant you that by year's end we may be saying you're right, Kell... But at the moment, not so much, m'kay? The guys out there in power now are tossing our troops out of the cities in the next few months. It ought to be interesting to see if they take after us here in the US or take after the French... We'll see...

    B.

    Tolerance of financial industry shenanigans.

Failure to properly support investigation and possible prosecution of those involved in torture / warrantless wiretaps.

The pointless secrecy surrounding the 747 photo op around New York.

Given the breath of fresh air Obama has been for our nation, that grade could have been so much better.

  • D6fer said on May 07, 2009....
dyingman....all of that criticism, and you still give a "B"?

What exactly would Obama have to do to get an "F" in your opinion? .....oh wait....I forgot.....this is such a historic Presidency....and he's black....so he gets an automatic passing score....affirmative action you know!

I think Obama could nuke Switzerland and his followers would find a way to justify it.
  • kelly said on May 08, 2009....
Well, Bush essentially nuked Iraq and we still see his followers justifying it.  The Iraq war has been a net loss for everyone involved.
  • javadewd said on May 08, 2009....
Damn, I wish Bush would have nuked Iran! Clinton carpet-bombed Serbia...

  • D6fer said on May 08, 2009....
kelly.....apparently, you don't know what a nuke does.
  • kelly said on May 09, 2009....
"kelly.....apparently, you don't know what a nuke does."

Sure I do.  It kills 100,000 people in an instant.  We just did it a little slower in Iraq.
  • javadewd said on May 09, 2009....
Ask Harry Truman, nukes don't discriminate. They kill everybody. They don't stop to ask, "Hey? Are you my friend?"

  • kevinunknown said on May 20, 2009....

I have been reading all of these posts and none of them have mentioned that Obama inhearated all of these problems from the previous Bush administration. So for you to blame him for them is just stupid. You’re clearly a republican so you will never approve of Obama and never acknowledge the failing’s of the Bush presidency. I already know that you are going to call me a “liberal” or “Obama lover” or say it’s just cause he’s black the truth is its just because he is better than Bush.

  • javadewd said on May 20, 2009....
I love the line "Obama inherited all of these problems from the previous Bush administration." The Second Coming of Christ to liberals said it, so it must be true... Right?

There is a law on the books from 1933 that was put there by the Roosevelt administration (along with the Treasury Department, the SEC and all the other winning ideas that are sinking this country right now) that basically states that the Treasury Department (Paulson under Bush, Geitner under Obama) can demand money in the event of a financial crisis to detour a depression and there is no branch of government that can oppose it. Bush had no legal recourse against it, while Obama exploited it. End of story.

TARP-1 dunked the deficit over a trillion dollars. TARP-2 dunked the deficit over FOUR trillion dollars. Nothing like quadrupalling the deficit in the first 100 days as opposed to the last few months of an eight year administration!

Again, yes, TARP-1 was a bad idea. TARP-2 was a horrible idea. Conservatives have a bad idea, shame on them. Liberals take the same idea and say "we're going to do the same thing, but we'll do it better" because they have no plan of their own, and it tanks, and it's all the conservatives' faults...

Fuck you! Quit stealing our bad ideas you morons!! You might as well had shit in a box and slapped a guarantee on it... You had the time.
  • kevinunknown said on May 20, 2009....

So are you really trying to say that history never happened?

    ·         The US economy was in a bad way before Obama, when Bush was in power

    ·         The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were started by Bush

    ·         Bush’s foreign relations were awful even us brits tried to move away from him

    ·         Domestically the patriot act not his best moment

    ·         As for terrorism Iraq was probably the worst thing he could have done

So please if you can tell me how any of these things were Obama’s fault

  • javadewd said on May 20, 2009....
What I'm saying is, Sherman, set the way-back machine....

    • The US economy wasn't in a bad way until the months following the election where your "boy who could fly" won.
    • The "wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan was started by terrorists over 20 years ago.
    • Bush's foreign policies kept the crazies off of American soil since 9/12.
    • Domestically, the "mission accomplished" banner not his best moment.
    • As for terrorism, not dragging Bin Laden's head down the street and setting his beheaded body on fire was the worst thing that Bush could have done

And you totally disregarded everything I pointed out, too.

I'm sorry, are your reading your screen in fucking braille and missed all that?
  • kevinunknown said on May 20, 2009....
bin laden and iraq had nothing to do with eachother
  • javadewd said on May 20, 2009....
I'm glad that opinion helps you sleep at night.

"As for terrorism Iraq was probably the worst thing he could have done."

Saddam Hussein gave millions of dollars to the families of suicide bombers. Once removed, no money was given and it actually deterred people from giving their kids over to Al Qaeda for use in suicide bombings... But Bin Laden and Iraq had nothing to do with each other... And monkeys are flying out of my ass.
  • kevinunknown said on May 21, 2009....

Javadewd- you clearly know fuck all.

I am going to start with your misconception that Saddam and Bin Laden were in some way connected. The truth is that the two men hated each other. This all started because of the first gulf war when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Bin Laden saw Saddam as a threat to his home land in Saudi Arabia because he thought Saddam was trying to conquer the Middle East. Because of this concern Bin Laden in early 1990 wrote a letter to the king off Saudi Arabia telling him that he was prepared to mobilise a vast army of Mujahedeen who had just finished fighting the soviets in Afghanistan to protect the kingdom. The king responded with rejection informing Bin Laden that the Americans would be allowed in to Saudi Arabia to protect it and to fight Saddam in Kuwait. This angered Bin Laden and enforced his hatred of the Americans, the Saudis and the Iraqis.

Your second point about Saddam paying suicide bombers is laughable. These people don’t do it for money they do it for their religion and belief system regardless of how manipulated it is. They truly belief that they will go straight to heaven for blowing them self’s up and killing a few infidel’s in the process. It’s called being a martyr and it has nothing to do with money.

  • javadewd said on May 21, 2009....
I do know "fuck all," and thank you for acknowledging it...

Well, it's good to see that MSNBC made themselves a new brainless dick-bot, but Saddam and Bin Laden were birds of a feather who both hated America. Yes, a brain-washed suicide bomber doesn't do it for the money, but their parents will gladly send their children to be brain-washed for money. Saddam paid into the millions of dollars to parents for such "martyrs." So sit back and laugh... Out your ass.

Sorry, I always start from the bottom and work my way up.

Also, as I stated above, both were terrorists. Their philosophy was "who can we fuck with today?" Much like the politically correct Microsoft slogan "Where do you want to go today?" Their ideological rhetoric (kinda like how you came to think this way) is to brain-wash uneducated idiots into thinking that there will be 40 virgins waiting for them in heaven. The good news is that there are, the bad news is that their all horny violent homosexuals -- they kinda left that part out of the Muslim holy book -- so best of luck to them on that... Spending the rest of eternity getting pounded in the ass.

By removing the power base in Iraq and causing a power vacuum, all the fun players like Iran, Bin Laden, Syria and so forth were coming out of the woodwork to obtain Iraq for themselves. They were like caged hamsters, fucking each other along the way, but buddies they were. The enemy of my enemy is certainly my enemy, because my enemies ally to try to defeat me. Such is the Art of War. We took out the one with the money and the oil first, then chased the rat through the maze.
  • kevinunknown said on May 21, 2009....

Its 72 virgins and fuck all to do with money by being a martyr Muslims also belief they will secure space for their closest family. And am not quite sour what MSNBC means? And if that last post means you agree with me or not, please clarify this

I'm confused. I hope it isn't just the grammar... I'm even more confused about your last request... Do you speak English?
