It took a long time for me to prepare. However I was ready and the princess needed someone to rescue her. I checked my sword and armour and set off. As I got closer I could hear the princesses cries for help.
"don't worry I'm coming" I cried.
"look out for the dragon" she replied
Dragon what dragon. Then there it was. A door opened and out flew this horrendous looking dragon. It looked suspiously like a giant stuffed gorilla but I knew that was my imagination fooling me. I drew my sword and attacked.
"TAAAAA DAAAAA.....TAKE THAT....AND THAT" I stabbed, punched and kicked at the beast till I was sure he wouldn't move again.
"HHHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPPPPP!"
I rushed towards the door, flinging it open. There was the princess surrounded by what looked like cuddly toys.
"Goblins!" she cried "Monster goblins are getting me!
I grabbed them off the Princess and handed her my small sword to protect herself. She grasped me from behind as I fought them to the door. I could swear that the princess was picking them up and throwing them in front of me to kill, but your mind does that in the heat of battle.
"one more" the princess informed me.
"Eeeewwwww....that ones real ugly." I said as the tall rag doll looking goblin attacked. Over and over I hit the goblin with my sword. I could hear the princess giggling behind me. My sword was showing signs of damage. It looked like alfoil wrapped aroung a stick.
"Thank you for saving me" said the princess.
"We still have to get away yet" I informed her. "Quick this way"
We ran down the corridor and turned left. Over the battlements that looked suspiously like a double bed. Around the edge of a lake that looked like a table, through a hole in a big hedge that looked like a door way and round till we hid behind a wall that looked like a sofa.
"Where now" I asked
"The Magic Carpet, It's over the wall" The princess informed me.
I boosted the princess up over the wall then clambered over my self. There on the other side was a plain white sheet with what looked like small glass beads all over it.
"There're magic diamonds and make the carpet fly" The princess informed me. We sat on the carpet. "acabar de crapabar" Yelled the princess. I nearly fell off but the princess laughing grabbed me and pulled me back.
"Wave...wave at the birdies" she said. I couldn't see any birdies but waved anyway. "get ready we are going to crash"
Crash did she just say crash. "AAAARRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHH" we rolled along the floor. We stopped. I was lying on my back with the princess lying on top of me. "WOW. That was a big crash" I said.
"Yeah it was kewl....I'm thristy.....can I have a juice please daddy?"
"course you can princess"
We walked to the fridge and I poured her some juice. She drank it quickly. I looked into those beautiful blue eyes.
"Can we play on the swing now?"

Super...what a lovely post! Your little one is lucky to have a dad with such great imagination...:-)

I used to invent storie for my daughter too...she liked particularly the adventures of two Italian siblings, Carlo and Carlotta...they were always in some kind of trouble but since they were always sticking together they were always ok at the end......

You brought me back their names...after a long time..

My kiddo loved stories with witches and magic and faries but situated in more modern times...naturally she fell in love with Harry Potter and the Golden Compass...and i have to admit it, her mom too...:-)

Her father, my ex, would rarely read to her.....;.he had dislexia when he was young so it was a struggle for him to read...plus, he was never at home when it was bedtime for her.....but i just loved that time of the day...

What an exciting episode! I am glad you two escaped on the magic carpet. Those goblin cuddly dolls sound horrific. Thank goodness your sword held up throughout the battle.

I can see I will have to get my Ranger gear ready in a couple of years to help fight against the evils that attempt to take over the neighbourhood. Hopefully I can be a Ranger anyway and not the evil that is attempting to take over the neighbourhood. With little boys you never know what side you are going to be on.

What a cute post Bozo.  What a good pop you are for going and doing all of that.  So many parents don't make the time for their children these days, it's refreshing and heart warming to hear stories from the ones who do.

Hi Ginger, My favorite part of my day is reading the bedtime story. It was something my parents never did. Anything to do with fairy princesses seems to do the trick right now. I can't say I invent the storylines that we play act. I try to let princess do that. I just set up the scene as per her requirements. I'm looking foward to her getting old enough for the Harry potter books. Mainly because I want an excuse to read them myself ;)

Hi Hotaka, Those goblins were real nasty pieces of work. Just when you thought you had finished one off it sprang back into life. I've made a new improved sword that I hope will stand up to the next episode better. I'd prefer to be a ranger than be shrek. But according to princess I look just like him :) Though I was allowed to take human form for this story.

Hi Hege, I love playing silly games like that. It makes you feel so energised afterwards. I think it's something we forget to do as we get older. I for one could play games like that for ever.

Wonderful story.  The young lady seems to have a vivid imagination.  Aren't you fortunate to come along?  :)

    Thanks for this little slice.

Hi Trav, Thats why I nearly fell off   ;)

Hi Grape, I'm very fortunate. Her imagination blows me away sometimes. Glad you liked.

Great story superbozo, no wonder she started reading at such an early age. I bet you're putting together a great deal of top shelf memories ? Funny thing about those top shelf memories. You'll both share them throughout your lives and won't even realize it as you add to your collection.

Hi Frags, You should have seen princesses face when she got back. The alcohol meant I went right over the top. Shes just gone to bed a very happy girl.

Hi CMan. She loves anything to do with books. It's something I'm more than happy to encourage. It's hard to picture our play being memories. I never want it to stop. I get what your saying though. I went and got a camera today so that I can start taking pics. You meade me realise how much I should try to record these moments. Thanks mate.

Hi Uni, I try my best. I still stand by my first comment though ;-P

Hi Secret, I'm a sucker for my princess :)

Hi Alabamagirl, Your right. I feel great finding that innerchild again. It's well worth the effort.

Hi Twyla, I looking foward to reading Harry Potter to her. I might test her out on the first one soon. Thank you.

Hi Ginger, Thanks for the encouragement. I'm already being rewarded :)

*super*~~ i've already said it to you so often...but in case you forgot...you are such an awesome Daddy... and the *~*~littleprincess~*~* is a precious, precious little one...reading this brought back so much to me (of all my kids of course...)but especially of the early years when there was only my little girl and I...shirley-temple-curled, petite, smart-as-a-whip, a princess as well, but a fiesty one, who could hold her own with the boys...

how lovely and innocent it was to immerse myself in her little world...playing, singing, laughing, cuddling, reading...at times i would give anything to go back and re-live all those beautiful, special times...

i know you, for one, do not take them for granted~

    *~*~*blessings*~*~to you *super* and *~*~the little princess*~*~*

    *~*Holly*~*

Hi Holly thanks. I take nothing for granted thats for sure. I'm really enjoying these moments of pure fantasy. It cracks me up how much fun me have. "Smart as a whip" and "fiesty" I can totally relate too. Princess doesn't miss a trick and more than holds her own. I'm a lucky fella :)

Art is different for kids than it is for adults. It is very important for children to be able to create arts and crafts on their own without copying from an adults model...
